Keeping a larger stock of balls costs no more in the long run and negates these problems.

I see WGT missing out on a lot of golf ball sales. Many players in real life head back to the pro shop in the middle of a round for a sleeve or two of golf balls. Anyone who has ever played golf has done this.

    Really?

However, in WGT it's even easier when you start using your last ball the game lets you know even mid round, so you just buy some balls then you don't have to go anywhere. I REALLY don't see the problem.

However, I do see why 'some' people would want this and as far as I can see it's border line cheating. Use the cheaper balls for drives and the more expensive balls for approach shots? Or perhaps pick which ball you want for each hole?

No, for once I'm reasonably happy with WGTs stance on this, indeed I would have them go further, if they are going to use a rule then stick to it, i.e. if you run out of a type of ball you are DQ'd no option for starter balls as that too breaches the 'one ball rule'.

the rules DON'T prohibit changing balls when a ball is damaged or lost, the equivalent of running out of balls during the round.  I find this very annoying as well - playing a decent golf ball to the equivalent of hitting a rock with a completely different swing meter - would be a huge plus to be able to select a different ball other than "WGT Top Rocks" when you run out of the ball that you are playing during a round.

so i dont have to play half a round with rubbish balls,

The 'Starter Balls' are fine once you practice a bit with them......so that you know how to play them in the event of running out of and not choosing  to purchase more balls during a round.....

Off the back tees (remember these are courses set up for Majors & not your local course) you can, if you are smart about it ,score a 30-31 on BPB F9 for example.......the beauty of these balls is it can be like as if you are playing in real life.....makes you focus on getting the ball on the fairway at all times & backing off on the risk approach shot to at least land on the green for a safe par.....the birdies follow on the less risk holes and par 5's.  Having good wedges allows you apply back spin etc.....

I enjoy playing rounds with these balls as an occasional  break from the Callaway Hex Chrome (L33) balls........to improve my course management.....

A tip for the meter.......place the swing arrow over the line just before the ding & click as the meter passes that point....usually get you close to hitting if not the ding itself.

    :-)

I'm with you CJ.  I wonder why there are so many threads about this all of a sudden?  It's always a bit of an ongoing theme but the last week or so there seems to be no end of complaints about WGT letting us carry on playing the round rather than kicking us off the course.

Don't like it?  Fine.  We can petition WGT to play a strict one ball rule, run out and you're off the course.

This looks impossible to me. Imagine the anger of clients being "robbed" of a ball and - in addition - DQed.

I'm firm in my position: It's not the one ball golf rule but WGT's "no options" principle which keeps us from choosing an alternative ball.
