    MainzMan:

I still think it's a mistake to sell it though.

I've played this game way more than most so it's inevitable at some point boredom kicks in. I have however been saying for ages now that the continual improvements in the clubs are bad for the game as a whole. If you are going to continually add distance and precision to clubs you cannot also make them easier to hit with slower meter speed as you say.

I would have no problem with longer clubs being available but there has to be an added risk thrown in with the increased benefits to ensure the game doesn't get too easy.

I recall when the i-15s were released, they were the most accurate irons at the time but the meter was fast as hell with the balls available at that time. There was a nice balance between risk and reward. Now there are no such issues and it's too easy to hit fairways and greens. No doubts we'll have new improved irons soon and that will probably see my time playing this game come to an end.

Don't get it ...... It will mess up your game ....... it's too long off the tee.

Every single one of my 2nd shots is now going too far and finishing up over the green.

Have to disagree with you there Lou. I just shot 62 @ RSG with it and it should have been a 59 or 60 if I could have putted better. 2 short birdie putts missed and 2 3 putt bogeys. I hit all 14 fairways averaged around 315. And with a 21 mile an hour tail wind on #18 I was only 30 yards for the pin.

I guess in the real world manufacturers are always harping on about how far and easy their latest greatest is.  WGT get forced to replicate that sales spiel for financial reasons......................I have not been playing WGT for that long but years ago (I am that old) had a sega mega drive and the principle / basic game play is just the same.  I can see that the R11 driver with normal balls is a good risk V reward idea.  Where WGT go wrong (and yeah it financial we know) from a game point of view is selling Tour pros / TM's 275 yard drivers that my mother (never played golf or computer games) could hit every Fway from the off with.  Maybe if WGT perfect the uneven lies?????????

I think T Legends should just get everything opened up from the get go! I think Legends should get the R11s at least by L88/90 ......................why would you turn up for match play spotting some L95 Average 61.10 TM 70 yards off a tee and he has gear that hits farther and easier............where is the pleasure for either player in that????  Well yeah I get CREDITS LOL.......I just don't bother with that any more..........

I think some balance at least needs to be brought in........I got bored with the Sega Mega Drive when it became to easy after a while, and my eyes lit up when I came across this game..........Sega MegaDrive version  x1000 LOL BUT things need to improve game play wise or it may just go the same way ...............And that would be a shame.........Now there are way better players than me and so yeah I have loads to aim for still before anyone jumps in.  But should a Legend (flash name for a very reasonable standard) at L77 not get access to a forgiving 284 yard driver when they are throwing way easy to hit 275 yard ones to Tour Pros driving from the Lady's tees .................The balance has got lost IMHO....encourages sandbagging but I guess they think flog it while interest is there as L40s you can fly to........buying up heaps along the way.......Hit Legend though...........Others think it's all rosey fine have that opinion!

IF the majority agree that the ultra long distance etc etc one should be a long service club thing only well fine I don't really care but down the ladder things have got a little more out of hand............

I used to be able to play matchplay challenge all day long, but now once some one sees a tour legend you get bumped out of the game regardless.

Typically I would play TL MPC, I might bump the famous 1's with the 57 or so average, but now effectively immediately, lvl 98 and above are out, gone, bye bye, no way.

In addition, they could of reduced the lvl 94 r11s back down to lvl 90, the would of been the decent think to do.

And a 275 yard lvl 48, really, what's the message there, i can see lots of pro's bombing the par 4's.

It definitely changes approach shots you may already have down pat. Traps you used to roll up to you now roll into, particularly at RSG. I see 1/2 to 1 club difference on the approach on many holes now more than anything because of the way the ball rolls after landing. No spin off the tee seems to be the ticket.

The ability to hit longer from the tee is a huge advantage............How any one in the various comments disputes that part is beyond me...........Certainly beyond professional golf course designers who have made courses longer to try and combat the issue...........More I think about there just should be a line in the sand. Should be open to all Tour legends only or all Legends as well or not at all............my opinion! Certainly won't be bothering with Match Play challenge against it unless for very small stakes with avery  few I know well and just laugh about it LOL

That sounds like the best reason to get the club YJ. You have new shots to hit and discovery is back in your game instead of rinse and repeat rounds. Good luck and good fun with the new driver. Level 98 earned it. :)

I'm not sure lvietri's comments are to be taken litterally.. There's a chance it could be a little something called sarcasm. LOL

I really doubt that all his 2nd shots are going over the green because his drives are too long with the new driver.   :)
