I'm not sure lvietri's comments are to be taken litterally..

His 2nd shots all might not be doing that but you are definitely hitting from different spots than you're used to. Where you might have been in between shots before you're not now and vice versa. Small but interesting learning curve. CD nailed it.  :-)

I recall when the i-15s were released, they were the most accurate irons at the time but the meter was fast as hell with the balls available at that time. There was a nice balance between risk and reward. Now there are no such issues and it's too easy to hit fairways and greens. No doubts we'll have new improved irons soon and that will probably see my time playing this game come to an end.

Yes, exactly, a risk & reward similar to how the R9 tri used to be.  Yes, you can add 10 yards to your drive but forgiveness should be a few dots LOWER and meter speed a touch FASTER, Much more realistic.  Seems like everything is getting "too lazy/easy"

And with a 21 mile an hour tail wind on #18 I was only 30 yards for the pin.

They will just have to bring in 30yd wedges now...........  :-)

The more advanced and better the clubs get, the greater the boredom factor.

    +1

I am sure it is an interesting little learning curve............Longer lazy driving just makes it easier soon though IRL or virtual............Shoot maybe WGT are hoping everyone that gets it will throw their R11 irons away and buy the slow meter G20s again LOL

Still on this thing I see. Instead of feeling sorry for yourself you should be happy for the players that have put in years, NOT MONTHS, to be rewarded in this way. But, that isn't happening. Kinda of shame you can't see it that way IMO.

No we do not see eye to eye at all........................a pro shop that only sells the longest clubs to it's longest members LOL.......And I don't remember saying I felt sorry myself...that's you putting words im my mouth or maybe you will show where I possibly said that.........please do not assume! really never the point :)  I suggest you look at what L98 people are posting..........see what they are saying about the distances...................huge advantages created...........and please don't say feeling sorry for myself ..that's just very silly!

OK, well I'll stick my head above the parapet and say I support WGT on this issue, i.e. making certain clubs level based rather than tier based.

WGT is a business as part of it's business model it wants / needs to sell clubs.

There are a huge number of multis (which are against the T&C but....) and restarts (which are not), both of these types of players have a distinct advantage over 'normal' (i.e. one account, first time, no cheat programmes) players.

If new players don't see any reasonable way to win tourneys RGs etc many will leave.

Someone in the know or someone with 'friends' at legend tier can advance to high tiers extremely quickly, heck not that long back there was a player complaining on this forum about his CC because none of the legends would deliberately lose a game to allow him to tier up.

If you make all clubs tier based then those thieving cheats (for let's not beat around the bush that's what they are) will just have more opportunities to rob the newer / more gullible players and in so doing they will drive them away from the game, that means less players, that means less business, that means less fun for the rest of the honest players.

It is unfortunate that there has to be some 'collateral damage' in this but if WGT cannot / wont control multis and restarts I see no alternative.

Chinajohn ...............very interesting...........I wonder if any one else has thoughts on this..........cheers for the input though from my point of view!  My gut feel though (personal) is that in the end it's the wrong way to go................
