How can I get more backspin on the ball. Hitting greens pretty solid, but too much roll.

    Thanks

Move the dot on the ball all the way down.

Don't expect much from the stuff you're using. Spin happens when you hit a ball that has spin attributes  with a club that does, too.  Starter stuff doesn't. Sorry.

Is there any club or ball combination that will actually bounce once and spin backwards on the green? (assuming you move the dot to the bottom of the ball for maximum backspin)

    Thanks, Bob

Many combinations. I use the high end cleveland wedges and if I want it to stop dead I use no spin at all - I hit it in the center and even then sometimes it backups a yard or 2. If I use full backspin with the balls I usually use (cally 3.5 spin rating ) I can spin it back litterally 20+ yards.

It's difficult to get balls to back up with irons. However,  with a short iron with a high spin rating such as the R11 lvl 90 and a ball with a lot of spin rating it's probably possible but with a long iron it's generallty unlikely to stop dead let alone back up.

Excellent! Thank you guys. I can't wait for some backspin. I'm just Pro level, and recently purchased the RocketBladez Irons and TaylorMade ATV Wedges. I guess I'm not high enough to manage backspin just yet. A few more good rounds and I'll get there.

Thanks again for the replies. Good to know!

The high level cleveland wedges are the best when it comes to spin.

Even a punched free starter ball with full backspin can do this. No need to mention that a full hit instead of a punch delivers even more spin.

For the interested I did some writing on what clubs to choose. Comparing price, meter speed, spin etc.

i've managed to back up 5 & 4 i shots with R11's under right conditions, albeit only about 1 yd .. plus i use high spin Nike's, so that combo makes it possible .. sometimes
