however it is always nice to try going for it ...just to see.

And if you miss long, the return is a CTTH shot, a very makeable pitch, chip or flop for eagle.  :-)

This and 16 on Congressional are probably the least eagled par 5s on WGT.

No the least eagled par 5 on WGT is # 9 at Congressional. The only way to reach the green in 2 there is to get lucky and nail the cart path with your second shot. I have done it only once and 2 putted for an easy birdie.

I've never understood why this hole is among those on the Hardest Holes compilation. It's the easiest birdie on the course.

They said they took the average score of all players on all holes to make the course. Many newer players have a hard time on this hole.

Quick edit there Courteney? LMAO (Your original reply came to my email).

As you have since realized BP #4 is in fact a par 5 hence a 3rd shot eagle is very possible having done it a number of times to both pins.

Would be nice if you thought for a second before you posted sarcastic one liners and then quickly removed them?

    Peace,

    Liz

There was no sarcasm there, it was a straight question. I confused the 4th with the 5th.

It might be on BOH cause it may be an easy birdie hole, but a tough eagle hole, well tough in the sense that you will have very few putts for eagle. If you look at the other par 5's that are available (remember there are no Oak holes) most of the others are pretty good eagle chances.

Maybe that's why it's included? My guess anyway.

That gets my vote.  Both par 5's on RSG are easily reachable unless you get unlucky wind.   The greens on St. Andrews are both reachable, even if the back 9 one is damn hard to stay on.  I've never reached the 16th at Kiawah in 2 but all the others are possible.

Given they needed 4 par 5 holes for BoH and couldn't use Oakmont, they didn't have many tough ones to choose from.  Personally I find the 13th at BPB harder, one of the few greens where a 4' putt isn't a certain birdie if you have to go cross green.  I play my second shot to #4 to the right of the green and make birdie 95% of the time.  Funnily enough my only eagle there was after going for the back pin in 2 and holing the pitch from off the back of the green.

Add 19 yards and hope it bounces out of rough. Lay up? Isnt that a basketball term? Thats March Madness. As far as being a hardest hole consider the source on who picks them. just saying
