Good idea sir. As WGT seems to be having problems getting permission to use the worlds top courses, I think they should lower their sites a little and go for lesser known ones. Personally I don't care what name it is or where it is, I'd just like more variety.

    How about just public course.

I live just North of the Bandon, OR Dunes Golf complex.  Four courses in the top 25 of America's top 100 public courses.  I am sure a golf resort would love to have the publicity on WGT for the right price???

I agree that WGT needs to set there sights a little lower and roll out more courses on a regular schedule.  Every 3, 4, or 6 months.  Nothing for almost a year is too long for die-hard players.

I agree, especially if we are missing an Open Course and WGT cannot get the rights for another top US Golf Course this would be a sensible approach.

Yes also to the option of good public courses, I have played many very good public courses in my travels all around the world. Bearing in mind mant clubs and public facilities are struggling  this could well be a viable option for both WGT and the courses.

I'm not sure though that any good public course would be worth the $250000 up to $500000 that it costs to bring a full stoke play course on here. There are exceptions though. Because as I understand it, Pebble Beach is considered a public course. For most of the others, they might be an option for Tru-Golf courses though.

I think if there was a free vote on here on whether people would prefer one quality course a year, or four lesser known courses, the latter would win the day.

But where is that extra $2 million that it would take going to take those 4 lesser courses going to come from. Contrary to popular belief I don't think WGT makes nearly as much money as people think. With the economy still fairly sluggish money everywhere is tight.

Aphrodite CC has  97,734 career rounds played....Whichever way you look at it, that's a lot of balls :)

Taking into account all the career rounds of the other cc's and the balls they've went through and then all the many club sets / drivers / putters etc... folks have bought over the years....WGT will be making decent profit.

Surely those figures are career rounds.

    they will be. :)

to think WGT aren't making as much as some folks think.....well....remember that Forbes article?

Last year...WGT's  turnover was estimated at somewhere in the region of  $40 - $50 million (they wouldn't disclose the actual amount.....which usually means it's much more)...but c'mon.....pixels cost nothing eh? All clubs / balls / add ons like xp boost and shot boost stuff......it's all profit.

I'm pretty sure WGT are making more money than a racing stable full of horse can poo.
