Yeah...a pettion to change the "rules" must then be lame also...afterall, the OP was seeking to change the rules...I mean...what are they in place for..silly rules. perhaps they'll accept a petition to let people roll them like marbles..I mean, we wouldn't want rules to determine how a game can be played.    On a side note...I bet I'm better wedging than you are puttng.....off to the course and let's settle this the old fasioned way.....through nine holes of.....getting it closest to the hole....lol

In closing...if all wedge shots are the same...you try it and see what you score...ad, I don't need to defend myself...I've done nothing wrong. It is a video game...it's a click of the mouse contest...that's all it is.

I have an idea..Lets start a petition to stop all petitions that have no merit or even an ounce of sense. This whole debate is so ridiculous it has become quite comical.I pay to play this game.Whatever makes it fun for me has been paid for by me.I am not even that good with the wedge, but I find it fun to use , which is my choice. My best score is 876.507 in putting blitz . I used whatever method I felt like to get that score. And yes...It was fun !

Sure you will, an it will render all interesting putts useless since people will actually only putt the easy ones. Fully legal currently, but very boring since the whole point of designing that tricky putt was that is was a tricky _putt_. When using the wedge, all shots are basically the same.

Never mind, everyone may do as they please, both WGT and the players, but bringing up "the rules of golf" in defence for using a wedge and be allowed to use the wedge in the future, that is just lame.

I agree Tightrope...using a wedge on the green is bush...and its only used as a way to get an advantage...yea..yea...its legal..so what...Surely...you people have heard the saying..."just cause you can..doesn't neccesarily mean you should"...and to the one comment..."Im gonna use a wedge toget it close..rather than take the chance of going by 3-4 feet...pfft...that is so weak...what that screams is..youneed to work on your putting..don't cha think?...I do...ONLY time Isee a wedge as legit on a green..is if you have rough..or sand or any kind of bad surface...If you've got nothing but green between you and the hole...the wedge needs to stay in your bag...Do you really think any of the pros..Tiger...Phil...Rory etc...had a 150 ft putt or greater...would bust out a wedge and think nothing  it.ause its "legal"..pfft...highly highly doubt it...they're gonna putt it...SO..to sum this up...people who use wedges on green and think its ok...what yu're game is saying is its ok..its legal...so Im gonna ake advantage of it....but the reality says...NEED TO WORK ON MY PUTTING...and that's all I got to say about that...

Duh!...Point missed again. I play with a good friend who can drop aces with putter or wedge. She mixes wedge and putter for variety and fun. It's not that she can't putt well...it's just adding some fun to the game. BTW your putting stats (like mine) could use some work too.LMAO. I think I'm done here.

There is different points. My point is this:
If I was to set up a putting competition I would choose some pin placements and putting positions that was very tricky to read, very tricky to even get close. Now, if only a putter is allowed, the tricky parts should be on the way to the hole. If you can use wedges, that route becomes irrelevant. Then, if wedges are allowed, you must make the trickyness differently - you must have a pin placement on a steep hill so that the wedged shot is not automatically within 4 ft from the pin.

That is what I find sad because it forces people to use wedges, if they want a good score. Then suddenly it is all about the score, not about making a tricky putt. Bit like masturbating really. Sex without involving any dangerous curves.

well then...that leaves out the neighbours cat..I was going to fling it at you and then bash you in the knee with a wedge just to show you how effective they really are....I'll work on a new plan whilst you putter about then....

Although WGT is a computer game it is meant to be a simulation of real golf, therefore I feel that playing in the spirit of Golf should apply. If people want to play arcade golf then go to Shot-Online and use drivers to putt or any other dumass thing they can think of..

I would definitely sign a petition, not that it will stop the crazy scoring that goes on in this game, that is up to WGT to sort out, remember that this game is still BETA and I think they are doing a pretty good job in developing the game as a true golf simulation.

I get a great deal of satisfaction from breaking par by 1 shot on a course like Merion and if I were continually scoring in the low 50's I would stop playing the game, where is the challenge in shooting un-realistic scores?
