    Hi WGT,

With the upcoming Virtual US Open it would be a nice gesture towards all Tour Legends and Legends 2 make the TaylorMade R1 Super TP 8.0 Driver (L98+) available 2 them, regardless of their Level - or a minimum of level 90. Give them a 1 time opportunity 2 buy (eg when signing up 4 qualification), so we can have a fair and competitive tournament. Would be gr8ly appreciated.

    Cheers, GC

Drivers wont win you anything, your PUTTER WILL.

Played plenty of players with R1 driver yet you only see the difference on a few headwind holes, dont feel inferior just 'cause you dont have it, it wont add any strokes to your game

Take a look at Last years US Open winner.  the score was 55 in each round!  R11 driver

Does anyone really think theses top guns & any legend averaging 59 or below needs a driver rated 3-5 yards more than what they already have?

Its all about 100 yards and in for winning a tourney!

    DRIVE for show--PUTT for dough.

Instead of looking for a few more yards in driving, any would be tourney winner should spend quality time on the practice green! -----Go the the profiles of the top guns here & look at many of the scorecards they have posted on their blogs.   18 hole games & ALMOST all 1 putts !

    Its ALL about putting !

I have personally played several people with the rl dirver. It is rated at 3-5 yards but it actually goes between 10 and as much as 18 yards further than the rlls. That means those possessing this club will be at least one club closer to the green. The above post are correct, the best putter will win the tourneys. But the rl driver does make a considerable  difference. And in my humble opinion a club of that stature should be available to all who play from the same tees, because it puts those who do not have the luxury of having it at a disadvantage.

Should be available to all from the tips OR maybe just to TLs.  Not all do or will ever try / be able to compete for the RGs etc.................Not having it brings imbalance, and for some embarrassment in a CC that they have it and other's do not. In a game of fractions most will go for it if they can…yes about putting but no one can dispute you are likely to hole shorter putts than long…………..Still current  policy looks intransigent, but no harm in letting them know not every one agrees! And some of it is just playing with toy's same as you can IRL :)

I so agree with Lonnie. It does make a one club differerence and even high end players such as CIB would agree hitting one club less into each hole would probably lower one's score

I Would be willing to pay more than asking price for one!

That old saying  "Drive for show, Putt for dough", has significant meaning.

It's more than the 5 yard rating for sure, I was able to drive the green on #10 at at SA with a 12 tailwind, never sniffed it before with my R11 with that wind.

290-300 yards into 10-12 MPH at SA is doable as well, that's much longer than the R11 can do.

I still keep the R11s that is available to you already although I am already at 98. In the few RG I played today I am within the 10 first and could have been lower if I had not missed some stupid putts. Have to agree with Chris, a putter can make a difference. Mine is not the best but can get some pretty putts on difficult situations(or miss from 3 feet in others). If you are going to be around, and you are planning to reach 98 to buy, that can actually take you months or a year from 94. I have outdriven others with that driver in most holes during alternate games. 2 or 3 extra yards are not a big difference to an iron, course management is.
