    WigerToods2010:
I always have a wry smile when comments such as your own are posted. How do you know the player in receipt of your razor sharp wit hasn't played 95% of their total games using basic starter equipment/balls?Instead, why not invite them to a game and enlighten them with any favourable tips I've no doubt you possess?Anytime I'm green feel free

I'm glad I made you smile. There was no intentional wit in my post, I was just trying to help as always. I would expect someone with 2,000 rounds of experience to have scramble stats of around 80%, I think these stats reflect a players general wedge ability as if they can't cope with a sand or rough shot they are probably no better from the fairway. I'm sure mine will be around there if ever I get around to playing that many rounds. I suggested finding a new system to the OP as it seems that he is just making the same mistakes and expecting differing results which does seem a little futile.

How me playing you would help the OP I have no idea and anyway I mainly only play people from within my country club. You're welcome to apply for membership if you wish but it is rather popular and you'd have to go on the waiting list. Have a nice day sir.

    Courteney,

That's actually quite naive and you in particular seem pre-occupied by stats, so answer me this.

My sand stats are around 60%, please provide your expert opinion on how I get these stats to 80% if I am not hitting any shots into the sand?

FWIW, My putting stats since I made TL in mid Jan are at 80.4% x 1 putt, yet my 1 putt % is at 50% almost and going to obviously take many many months to get to 60%. Do you have an expert opinion how I can improve this stat?

Your answers are usually NOT helpful, they are filled with sarcasm and as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Yes, in simple terms her stats are improved by playing just 4 good rounds, whereas mine would require 20 good rounds to have an equal effect, and I am not even sure that is true.

What is true though that someone with so many posts, is bound to spout a lot of waffle and obviously has a very high opinion of herself.

I thank the posters who have made a positive contribution.

While you are considering your reply (if any), you may as well answer this too.

Mid Jan my ave dist to pin was 16 ft, it is now 13 feet, my ACTUAL ave dist to pin in ranked rounds since mid Jan is 10.1 ft, how do I get this 13ft to a distance you deem worthy?

About a month ago, I hit 10 shots a hole over 36 holes in an attempt to rid myself of the dreaded severe VEM I was suffering at the time, what do you suppose that little exercise did to my "all important" stats?

I know it took my ave from 60.04 to  62.14 but you are only concerned with stats.

So please, in your expert opinion, do tell me what ANY of my stats mean and how they are relevant to my ability?

    Spot on John,

If you hit one or 2 shots in the sand or rough everyday and make par, your stats will improve by next to nothing and it will take years for them to get to 80%.

Stats should re-set on tiering up, I think they would be a heck of a lot more accurate in respect of a players CURRENT ability.

Exactly why stats for long term players don't say much. They are useful to new players but it's frustrating not being able to gauge your progress after thousands of rounds. I will say if you see long term players' stats like 80% Scramble you just know they had their act together from Day 1, or learned real quick. Those I believe.  :-)
