    courteneyfish:

These putter pals and other pals can cost a lot of money in the long run. I find a cut down post-it note with a few pencil marks works just as well.

    What a cheapskate!

ps thought I was the only other one to resort to a post it note  :)

The advantage is you can easily alter or add marks for certain shots.

if u google stickies u will find a very nice app that does it all for u, and can be attached to only the game window.

It works for every club in the bag

Alternatively you could learn what your clubs can do, and not use any additional aids. That way when you shoot that great score or hit that great shot, you get the satisfaction of knowing that its you that has done it, not you plus your artificial helper.

Along that  line of logic, the meter itself is an artifical "helper".

     More Artifical helpers:

    wind speed and direction

    Pointer yardage/aim arc

    Green grids

    Yardage markers

Any camera view except golfer view. Green views excluded when actually on the green .

So I guess if you really want to get all "Straight Edge" with this golf simulator, turn off the all the above and block the meter out . Use the swing animations alone for that Superior experience! Oh, and no Calculators . All math must be done in your head. After all you don't carry a calulator on the course. :)

wgtcaddy is free and it has a meter for every type of shot for every club, you simply type in your distances in the text file and voila.

I really wish they'd eliminate all those kinds of things.  One of my biggest gripes is how American education sucks.  I don't think there is anything wrong with trying to figure out what to use and how hard to swing it if you have a 185 yard club from 172 yards out, with a 15% terrain lie, 7 mph headwind, green raised 6.

It makes me think of all the times I go to Taco Bell for lunch, something knocks out the cash registers from working, and employees just standing there looking stupid because they can't push a button and make a machine do the thinking for them.

You still have to calculate the distance you need, the meter aid just helps you find the distance on your meter.
