I've made the following proposal multiple times, been complimented on the idea multiple times by members.

The current system can work fairly for all with a simple tweak. In real life, anyone can walk into a pro shop and buy any equipment, even the top of the line items. The fact that a hack has the equipment does not mean they can use that equipment as well as seasoned professional on the top tours.

Simply leave the current level driven system in place but deduct a percentage of performance off clubs for less than the legend level on the best equipment.

For example, let the r11 top level perform at 100% for Tour Legend and Legend. 95% for TM. 90% for Master. And so on down the line.

Lesser clubs can reach 100% at lower tiers. Maybe something like having the G15s reach 100% at master and above and then going down 5% per tier from there.

That way lesser clubs available at the lower levels continue to sell and the better clubs perform more like the lesser clubs in the hands of those who are in the lower tiers.

in real life you arent , as a legend, teeing off 100 plus yds behind a hack using the same equipment.

In real life we can and do tee off from different tees sometimes.

I have played many rounds over the years where different players of different skills tee off from different tees depending on their preference. Juniors from kids' tees, females from the ladies' tees, high handicappers from the whites and low handicappers from the tips. As long as it doesn't waste a lot of time and slow things down it works just fine.

Did you even read the proposal? Club performance weakened by a set percentage per level. That includes distance as well as precision, meter speed reduction, etc. That R11 in the hands of a Legend is going to go 282, 268 for a Tour Master, 254 for a Master, 240 for a Tour Pro and so on down the line.

Level 90 clubs will perform like  level 10 starter clubs (or worse) in the hands of the weaker-tiered players.

So what was the point you were actually trying to make with your statement regarding my proposal?

the point was in real life you have choices on what equipment to buy as well as where to tee off from...there is a par 5 at oakmont where a legend is forced to tee off 97 yards behind a tour- master...are you kidding me?....compare apples with apples when talking real life and a video game

No. Not kidding you. Look at the course tour at Oakmont.

    http://www.oakmont-countryclub.org/

On Hole #4, for example, the PGA Tour pros (I would equate them to Tour Legends here) use the black tees at 609 yards. The next tees for the rest of us mortals are at 512 yards. It goes down from there.

So what is your problem with realism in the game? I'm proposing they add even more realism by reducing club performance when not in the hands of the quality players they were each designed for. I am comparing apples to apples.

No one is forcing you to tee off from the tips. Practice mode allows you to tee off from anywhere you want. Since WGT doesn't handicap by numbers they do force better players to tee off further back in a attempt to even the playing field a little (or a lot, depending on your perspective.). I'm trying to cut some of the unfairness in the way they are doing it.

ok...you win...equate away...it still bothers me when a level 48 pro has access to the R1 driver and also has a tremendous tee advantage over lil ol me...his second shot is a wedge and mine is a long iron...over 9 holes that adds up

i agree with u bro id like to get the r11s driver and 3 wood but its gonna take a year for me to get enough xp points to get it i think legends(and tour legends) should have access to all clubs they do have legend only balls soooooooooooo how about the clubs

I totally agree with you in that regard. What you say is a big reason I don't think that RI should be going the same distance in a pro's hands as it does in yours. The clubs he's using on those second shots shouldn't have the same precision on them that yours have either. You guys have earned the right to get the performance out of the top clubs. The rest of us haven't.

I think we've been addressing two different sets of players. That may be part of my confusion as to what you were saying. I believe you are right when you refer to a level 48 having access to the lower level R1. I'm addressing the top clubs at the highest levels that are becoming available to people of lower tiers. My performance discount could be applied to the clubs you're referring to without denying someone the right to buy them the same way as the top level ones.

I think what I'm proposing will cut a lot of the sandbagging and the complaints about them too. There will be a lot less incentive to keep tier low while leveling up in order to take advantage of the top clubs on the shorter tees.

Why are you a Legend playing against a Pro , anyway ? If you are playing only for fun , then what does it matter ? You shouldnt be playing lower than Tour Master or Master tier , if playing for credits. My 2 cents
