I predicted a Final cut between 54 - 56 the fist couple hours after it opened,,lol. By the time the open comes, 52's and 53's will be the avg scores for the top 10 players.

I think 56 at a real push but 57 still seems the magic number, the greens on 17 and 18 can ruin a round and take away all momentum

Hats off to the players that can shoot the scores their shooting at Merion. Me I'm wearing out the restart button trying to beat the 62 I shot last week. Unlike Olympic which I thought was impossible when it opened last year and after 10-20-50 attempts to qualify I gave up. Merion seems like it can be had, if I could just get hot with the putter!! ha ha ha! WGT has got to love it. I'm wearing out balls faster than I care to think about.
IMO Merion is much tougher than Olympic. There are u bunch of easy birdies but also a number of holes that can f up your score in a heartbeat. More bogey holes and less forgiving. There is a possible low score in there, you have to be pretty damn perfect though
The course sure seemed to play easier the first few days it opened. Or maybe it's the fact I didn't realize how tough it actually plays.
