Have any of you actually timed the meter?? I have and the Versa averaged 3.1 seconds for the entire meter travel. My Max averaged 1.9 seconds and the starter also averaged 3.1 so it appears that the meter speed of the Versa is just as advertised.

The meter speed on the L70 Odyssey is now slower than the Rossa...

I wasn't when I first got it... it was about the same speed as the Rossa a couple weeks ago...  but something has changed and it is now slower  than the Rossa....  maybe tmorrow it will be faster...we shall see....lol

Might be my imagination....  don't know...lol

After 21 putts on a 18 hole game I had this morning, when I changed back from the Rossa ....  I think the Odyssey is a great putter.

Edit....  I have to say... the speed of the putter does not match the pic in the specs.... looking at the specs, I would think the speed will be at a snails pace... not so, but slow enough for slow brain to handle....lol

Wow!  For a smidgen on the meter speed speedo, the Max is 1.2 seconds faster!  I never realized my Max was that fast!!

WGT's pro shop data is really screwed up based on that.

There are video comparison's in other threads...As of those dates the comparison's are valid.

Did you try them with starter balls? I don't know exactly how feel interacts with club meter speed, but if it's an addition rather than a multiplication, good balls would produce exactly the effect you describe.

It isn't even as slow as the Nike putter which has the same meter reading, so come on WGT. What's going on?

The truth is, both of those putters are too fast compared to what they advertise!

I played a round with my "Old' beginner putter this morning. It HAs the same slow specs as both of the above mentioned putters......HOWEVER, the beginner is like watching grass grow!...SO, why arn't those putters the same slow speed as my beginner putter wgt??

Well, i couldnt help it. I guess im a sucker at the best of times. I went and bought the level 70 Odyssey putter for a very expensive 2495 credits just now. My 1st round out with it, and this happens:

    http://www.wgt.com/replay.aspx?ID=34f77733-38ab-4995-b8ee-a1c000a26394

I dinged the putt, but the ball goes to exactly where i placed the aimer. Yup, the replay shows the ball turning in slightly toward the hole, so why then did it go to where i aimed, and not more to the hole? This is Tournament speed greens, where breaks on the greens surface take more effect on the putt. At no point on the putting grid did the break go away from the hole. Surely the ball turns into the break, not out and back in?

Oh, and yes, the meter speed is just the same as my Rossa.

I also just purchased the Odyssey after being favorably impressed renting it. But I am having some problems similar to what you indicate in the replay.

I do find the meter speed a tad slower than the Rossa. That part is ok. And on very long puts with little break I am impressed by how the Odyssey holds the line. It feels very solid. But on some medium putts like the replay above I have missed several that would have definitely sunk with my trusty Rossa. I also question the wisdom of replacing the Rossa's 90 scale with 100. Obviously the Odyssey will appeal to Rossa users because of the same increments, so why mess it up by having 100 instead of 90?

Now I remember (I think Yankee Jim) saying that you can't buy putts (by purchasing an expensive putter). I get it. But after owning the Rossa for a year I really was looking forward to sinking more putts with this higher-rated putter. But I feel I have to re-learn how to handle the break of the green.

I'm certainly not ready to sell the Odyssey back. I'm going to give it a week or two. I am optimistic that soon I will like this putter very much. But right now I'm a little frustrated.
