  Could I suggest that on putting settings a default is set either y the system or but the individual player as too many times I find the setting put up by the system  is too high and this leads to large margins of error.

  Yes it can be frustrating, especially when on the fringe, but like all clubs, have a pre shot routine and this will prevent future occurrences and double check before hitting.

  For the record I seldom trust the auto caddy and usually adjust. and would personally rather disable it.

  I agree, I believe it would be fairly easy for players either to have auto caddy or not!  I also think players should also be able to set default settings ie choice of shot and club. I am also finding that when I get lies off the green the elevation is frequently wrong.which leads to severe inaccuracies in the type of shot recommended leading to severe frustration and annoyance!

  You can get rid of the caddy. In the menu under options, un-check the virtual caddy. Now you have to select the club you want. It does nothing to putting and pre-selection of  distance, but without the caddy, you might not forget to check the distance setting for the putter as often. Those senior moments do hurt.

  WOW its taken you 4 years to respond to this thread you started and you still havent figured out how to play the game or adjust the game settings . You can do everything that you are speaking about with the exception of the situations on and around the greens . Why WGT wont totally allow the caddy program to be entirely disabled is also beyond me . But it leaves me to think that they either arent smart enough to or cant which makse no sense .

  But it would be nice to have the game stop interfering with game play when on and around the greens . Let the players totally decide how they wish to play when in those situations especially when putting .

  This is now becoming ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!  I HAVE JUST COMPLETED A GAME WHERE MY WHOLE SCORE HAS BEEN RUINED BY THIS CRAP AUTO CADDY IN PUTTING! I HAVE DISABLE AUTO CADDY FOR MY CLUBS BUT STILL GET  THE BLOODY THING WHEN PUTTING.

  IF IT CAN BE DISABLED FOR CLUBS WHY CAN IT NOT BE DISABLED FOR PUTTING????????

  IT IS SPOILING THE WHOLE GAME FOR ME!

  Hi

  Far be it for me to stand up for them, I've fired hundreds in my time. I don't think anyone's found the one I hit with Big Bertha at St Andys either,  a ding that was too.

  If you're putting he doesn't do anything. Your ball's there, you have a putter in your hand and it's up to you.

  How has he managed to ruin your round? Coughed or sneezed loudly,  broken wind maybe?

  Pack a lunch and something to drink.  You're going to be a while getting answers.  

  Oh, and develop a pre-shot routine where you check which putter scale your caddy hands you with the putter.  Problem solved.
