...I just don't make any putts!  Always close.  Lot's of nice trys and good rolls.  Rarely three putt.  Distance control is dialed in.

I hit a high number (85%) of greens and get a lot of looks.  But I miss most of them, only converting 35% of the time.  Can't tell you how many times I've hit all nine greens and shot a 34 or 35.  Hitting the ball closer would help (17ft avg).

It's the read.  I under play or over play.  Always second guessing.  Tried dinging or missing the ding against the break.  Look from both angles and in chip mode.  Gold's Formula is too complicated.

Once in awhile the planets align and they drop, but it's not often.  I will forever be stuck on a 66.5 avg until things improve.

I'm blown away at the 55-60% one putt average elite players achieve.  For now, I'd be thrilled to get to 40%.

They say practice, but to me practice mode is nothing more than a stroke round that is not ranked.  Without the ability (mulligans) to repeat a missed putt and experiment, I don't see much benefit.  Maybe it is just a matter of playing 4 hours a day (experience), but I don't have that kind of schedule.

Anyway, would appreciate any advice or links to videos showing explaining how the greats do it.

Putting can be a real ***, I sucked also till i switched to ding putting, I still play miss the ding putting for short benders though. But i found once I got used to ding putting they drop with more consistency as the line may be more break, it's more consistent.

Missing the ding brings in another variable IMHO, plainly just another miss, and something else WGT software can mess with.

I'm still not a great putter, but I have definitely improved.

Well I have been removed for the game for about a year now. Rusty as all could be. But I saw that you made a comment about Gold's Formula. I actually worked with him to improve it and cut down on time it takes to set the putt up. I have tried MULTIPLE styles as well and Gold's is by far the most consistent. I am somewhere around 51% on 1 putts which isn't ear the top but my avg distance to pin is 13ft. So I usually make a good deal of birdies from 15ft or so. Within 10ft gold's formula will not miss!. If you make the proper calculations and hit it at the right speed it will drop.

Now a lot of peeps on here are about the "feel"... I'm all about the math. But I love math... so to me playing this game works the mind a little bit and I like that.

If you are a feel guy then I would go with the "miss it with the break" method. That worked pretty well for me using the Daytona. But I started getting this feeling that WGT would only have certain putts go in. I remember I played two ready-gos and had the same exact putt both rounds. Same distance. Hit both the same way and one dropped and the other burned the edge. That is when I went 100% to gold's method.

I'm trying to get back into this thing so feel free to add me and I will help where I can. Gold's method is GOLD if you stay patient with it.

    Good luck on the greens!

Only good tip i can give you is my experences on the real course.

    Be aggressive speed wise.

    Take an aggressive line.

Don`t be scared to hit the ball 3 to 4ft putt past the hole.

Learn from the putts you miss play around on different greens and brakes watch the dots close and how fast they are moving.

one of my old putting video`s. Every1 putts diffrent my way below

Best putting tips you can get ! I'm practicing sir Notonthis formula 2 months and my one putts stats went up by 5% and still growing and i'm terrible putter. Worth to try.

Thanks for the replies, I'll stay positive and keep at it.  I did notice on suncity's video that he really does hit 'em in with alot of speed.

For the most part, I am a feel player, but do use a distance chart to putt.  I also will use larger scales for shorter putts to shorten my swing and increase control at the ding.  For example, I'll use the 100 scale for a 14 foot putt.  But distance is not the problem, judging break is and as of now, no "system" exists.  I just look, take an educated guess and hope it goes in.  Most of the time, it doesn't. ;(

I agree judging the break is the hardest part.  All i got 2 go by is i got 4 marks

on the bottom of my screen. That i did with a marker 1 is for  6 ft  12 ft  half way

and 18 ft and 24 ft  all the rest is mostly guess work and its tough doing that.
