...I just don't make any putts! Always close. Lot's of nice trys and good rolls. Rarely three putt. Distance control is dialed in.
I hit a high number (85%) of greens and get a lot of looks. But I miss most of them, only converting 35% of the time. Can't tell you how many times I've hit all nine greens and shot a 34 or 35. Hitting the ball closer would help (17ft avg).
It's the read. I under play or over play. Always second guessing. Tried dinging or missing the ding against the break. Look from both angles and in chip mode. Gold's Formula is too complicated.
Once in awhile the planets align and they drop, but it's not often. I will forever be stuck on a 66.5 avg until things improve.
I'm blown away at the 55-60% one putt average elite players achieve. For now, I'd be thrilled to get to 40%.
They say practice, but to me practice mode is nothing more than a stroke round that is not ranked. Without the ability (mulligans) to repeat a missed putt and experiment, I don't see much benefit. Maybe it is just a matter of playing 4 hours a day (experience), but I don't have that kind of schedule.
Anyway, would appreciate any advice or links to videos showing explaining how the greats do it.
