So I have taken over a year break from the game. Now I'm back... I need to know what is the best putter for a ding style putting.. I won a majority of my money with the Daytona...  switched to the lvl 77 nike... And with a good month of practice stuck with it.. Now im back and bought the lvl 70 odyssey... (everyone that reviewed it said great things so I bought it...) and now NO putts are dropping and also it seems like if I ding straight putts OVER 10 ft. I will miss a lot of them from burning the edges. Doesn't seem like the precision is as advertised.

So what putter should I try and use? The floor is open!

(Also Im sorry for not posting this in equipment) I just wanted to also discuss the styles that you use with the putter you have.)

ie. You use the Daytona but you like to miss the ding with the break...

    Thanks in advance!

why change anything ? If the other putters worked , then go with what works .I play the Daytona , because I dont rely on the ding . Also because Im a cheap date . I dont play for credits , just for fun . Sorry that Im not too much help , but if I were you , I would go back to what you know already works . Happy Swinging

I do a little bit of it all sometimes i miss the ding and sometimes

i move the marker.  But in my opinion the max putter is slower than the odyssey.

If you look at my stats - you will probably disregard this, but my putting has greatly improved recently thanks to the Max Control putter (Master version).  I am a try and hit the ding putter most of the time and love the vast array of meters on this version.  Lots of options for various green speeds in one putter.

Nice profile pic by the way - classic shot. JMHO of course.

If t aint broke - don't fix it!

I also use the Nike Lvl 71 putter and usually try to ding it and it works well - my putting has improved immeasurably since using it. I too seem to be burning the edge of the cups lately, but this is purely speed related

Yes it is tempting to try new toys but they take time to get used too, especially putters so either persist with one or the other.

That's a good question... why change? ... lol... maybe I have an adapt or die personality... lol... I think I will roll with the odyssey for 1 week.. Maybe my break reading is just rusty. (Although) the straight putts have me confused...  actually did some research... I looked into 50 tour legends with averages better then 60 and looked at what everyone had in the bag. I DID NOT count the people with the 92 or 84 ghost because I am far away from that being an option... This is the results.

    Daytona lvl 55 - 9

    Nike Method lvl 77 - 11

    Versa lvl 70 - 5

    Max (master) lvl 80 - 10

    Ghost lvl 66 - 5

    Other - 10

Now obviously a lot of tour legends use the lvl 92 or lvl 84 ghost but I didn't take those into account because m selfish and can't buy them yet, lol...

Also note there were some odd ones that had much lower level putters that I didn't add to the mix because it was few and far between. they just got added to the OTHER section...

This is ONLY 50 people... but honestly I am going to have to get the Rossa and Method putter warmed up and taken out for a spin... If that doesn't solve it for e I will buy the MAX putter and try that...

Hope this helps someone else who is on the fence!

The best putter you can get is the highest level spider ghost, I dont know why players use lesser precise putters when the spider is the most precise in the game

Chris the Versa and level 80 max are only slightly less precise than the level 92 Ghost Spider and more forgiving and also have better balance so in fact they are both as good if not better than the level 92 Ghost Spider.

The difference between a lipout and the bottom of the cup.  :-)
