Still new at the computer stuff and would like to know what I would need to have on my computer to talk with other players during AS and multi player rounds. I have read that some CC use Skype. I have no idea what that is. Any helpful advice or hints would be appreciated.

I have been looking to join a CC but feel that I need to make sure that I am ready as far as my computer set up. Thanks in advance for the help.

It all depends on what or if your CC/opponent/partner uses anything, there is Skype and TeamSpeak which you need to Google to look at and I am sure there is more.

Thank You for this advice. I will check it out. Any CC owners have any other requirements for this?

nope ...we do have some members using skype but this is not a requirement. I like to let people decide if they want it or not. People should be free to choose. Anyways , you might have it (skype or any other) and play with some that don't so in that case , it would be useless

sent you a CC invite ...up to you to join or not

If your computer does not have a built in microphone, you will need a stand alone one. Camera is optional to use Skype. Some web-cams have the mic built in though.

Mike + loudspeaker => headset as a convenient device.

I'd not opt for camera use as this takes away more bandwidth while some have experienced influence on the meter from Skype audio alone.

Skype does seem to take up a lot of room on your computer. I dumped it for a smoother meter. I hear that Ventrilo and Team Talk are better.

I strongly disagree. But then I guess ppl with un smooth meters will try anything.

If your out of things to try... I got one for you.. Get a 2nd computer.. Golf on one.. surf on the other.. WGT is a very demand PC HOG!! Just opening (switching windows) to the calculator can mess your meter up...

Your computer is the  best club in your bag..

Our CC uses skype, I have had zero problems with my meter, although other members say their meter stutters at times.

I  couldn't agree more. A lot of the WGT bashing IMO is the individuals computer.
