    GypsyGreen:

Its after playing many shots like this one- (see replay) that made me realise one simple thing,... try it,.. anything,.. everything,.. when you find what works & works well for you , get your virtual a$ back on the green stuff and play!!

whether this shot is possible in RealLife or not is irrelevant..  3Iron , full power & full backspin with wind in back ofcourse...  to bounce backwards on contact with the green,.. i aint complaining.. :)

    borntobesting:
The only time I use added backspin with these wedges is chips pitches and flops and I don't even use it all the time on those.

agree with this in most cases, however i do use added bs when i am inside about 35 yds, due to the fact that i am choking way down on the 64w club on a punch. Alot of people say they prefer the ATVs because they have a 50 yd full swing and 40 some odd yard punch versus a 60 yard full swing and 50 yard punch on the cleves.

I find i can use punch all the way down to 27 or 28 on the cleves if i add back spin and the ball doesn't pull back on those yardages just skips and stops.  Anything less than 26 or 27 i can move to pitch or flop and get  super close. just my experience.

Full back spin works great for me with the 64 cleveland when punch is used. The only time to not use it is when the hole is uphill or out of rough.  All other time it stops less than 1 yard.

Yes, It does seem true if you land short the ball will spin back even without adding spin, but you land long, ball bounces forward!!
