When you throttle way back on a flop you have to add distance. At 16 yards I'd hit 16 yards, at 8 yards I'd hit 10, at 13 I'd hit around 14. That's from the fairway, full bs.

16 flop with bs from the fairway goes ~14..:(

14 pitch from fairway with bs goes 14-15 and rolls ~1 yard

The only thing I miss now using the ATV's is IMO the flop shot is better with the Clevelands when flopping from sand or rough higher then 30% . But I never liked the Backspin on the C's it just seemed to extreme.

Now the price is a little much compared to the C's but I prefer to get some roll on approaches with the ATV's. The C's dont get that realistic shot making unless you use topspin but then that throws your yardage off and that is when the VEM kicks in for me also :( .

Since using the ATV's I am making more 1 putts and I like the slower meter speed.

I am ready to upgrade, so any input would be of great value to me.

I have always used the PING wedges & the TAYLORMADE 64 deg.

Not bad clubs does the job, got the old saying if it anit broken no need to change anything.

Only help i can give you. Have not used the cleavlands or ATV.

    Hey all

A club is a club and its only as good as you use it, Saying this ATV vs Cleavland vs Ping is all pretty much the same with the same concept and outcome. They all gona Pitch Flop chip Punch and full shot there way to the hole with pretty much the same accuracy with all of them, Getting to know your Clubs and what they will do In different Conditions are Vital although the Ping will play Differnently out sand or rough to the Cleavlands and ATV's the best would be to See what best suits your Style of play. Getting one Combo of clubs and sticking to it till you learn it, would be best. Thus No one can really say what is the best Wedge, they can only comment on whats good for there style of play, personally i Use the Clevlands but thats just me other players will differ and be deadly on there short game.  with 3 wedges you have 15 extra shots to learn. So ANSWER to this is " They all are good". Just stick toy your choice and learn the Club and how it plays.

Once you have your Choice then by all means aks for hints on how that club Plays.

I'm one that also had issues with the more lofted Cleveland wedges and 2what i considered excessive backspin.

However, I have been using the 56°, Lvl 76+ (100 yrd), CG16 for many months now.

It's to bad the TaylorMade Z-Satins are not longer available. I still use the Z-Satin Lvl 39+ 60° and 64° wedges, but have been unhappy with the 60° performance lately. So, I will likely be re-thinking which middle wedge I play.

No arguments there...still got my 64* Satin in equip ( and what a club that is ) bought the high ATV because..it must be better right ? Wrong.. it is better in most situations I find but I would like to still have the 'roll out' I got with the Satin, as more shots around the green / ruff went it.

Having said all that I didn't even know about the 'punch' shot when I used it, so take my advice with a pinch... :))

All TL would still be TL even with the L18 ATVs...it's all about knowledge / experience and dedication to learning WGT and your clubs.

If you learn the flop with fbs you don't have a rollout issue. Releasing the spin to get more roll is easier than guessing what to add and keeps you out of a long return.

I used to flop everything until I learned the pitch and chip shots. CGs with spin balls are sick with the brakes and very easy to map pitch and chip shots with.

@Willy-That 64 will back up all by itself. Use top spin to get it to stop. GL with your good purchase.  :-)
