Really don't want to hear anything but " yes we took care of it and they are gone". Yups simple. You do not download cheating software and check it out.

Sorry but what you are calling for is quite ridiculous. Curiosity doesn't mean you are guilty, unless you are adhering to a Guantanamo style legal system.

Sorry Tiffer, i have to disagree here. So you are saying that it is okay to download cheating software to check out how it works? I would say you are GUILTY the minute you decide to download it,,, no????

Sorry cheating software here is illegal period. This is not Wgtls. You download it you are gone, at least that is what i read in the rules.

I am wrong here? If so help me out, i can't see the light.

Have the rules changed? I just read them, don't see any changes.

If so, i would love to hear your opinion on downloading cheating software to see how it works. ;)

So how do we know they are not using it now? See where i'm going with this. Sorry mate you download it, you have to go. Pretty simple conclusion.

IMO there is no reason to ever download cheating software, and if so, i wish someone would come here a give me a legit reason. Waiting.........

OOO,,i forgot checking to see how it works is not a legit reason. So if anyone has a good reason i'm listening.

I would love to hear from all the player on this. So what players it okay to download cheating software to see how it works? I wait to hear your opinion.

I wasted 2 cups of coffee reading this bull shite, and might as well make a day out of it...im gonna sit here too broh`     ( waiting )

I have to agree with this.

' I wanted to see what I'm up against' is not a legitimate excuse.

....I will drop round tomorrow with some tea and sandwiches, you'll be waiting a while.

But,,,,it is against the rules mate. You download it, your gone.

This software in the wrong hands could make for a unbeatable player. Must sit back and think about that for a second.

I don't think that is the case personally, BUT it would lead to a very good scum bag shooting that 25 to jag a win a trifle more frequently..............In a game of fraction's that's huge!

On WGT saying something I have seen (no gamer and quick look) other sites being informative on this stuff as to what is going on and what they are doing! people more in the know please comment if this is a worthy observation or not???? Could WGT being doing better????? Sadly this sh$t will not go away as it stands!

Well speaking from my own perspective, there is nothing wrong with that as long as the software is not then used ongoing.

For the last 4 years there has been continual debate on this issue. Up until probably the last 18 months the general perception of many players was that cheating software simply did not exist. This was of course utter nonsense as there were and still are a number of cheat programs.

About 2 years ago my curiosity led me to download cheat engine version 4. I did so to prove to myself that there was such a software. How else can you speak with any authority on any matter if you are not in possession of the facts? Downloading the program was as far as I got, the program was simply too complex for someone of my basic knowledge of computers. Had I been able to set it up my intention was to play a practice 9 with it purely to see if it did what many players were claiming. After this I would uninstall it. As it was I took one look at it and uninstalled it within minutes.

Now, does this mean I am a cheat? Does this mean I have spent the last 2 years playing this game as a cheat?

Sorry but I fail to see what WGTLS has to do with this argument? WGTLS was actually the site that was responsible for highlighting, with irrefutable proof, that such software existed. WGTLS provided a great service to the WGT community by proving and dealing with a known cheat first. Any suggestion or perception out there that WGTLS is some sort of safe haven for cheats is wrong and disrespectful to Mark, a guy who has put way more into the enjoyment of WGT than 95% of all other players of this game.

As for the rules, you will have to educate me I'm afraid. If what I did 2 years ago merits a ban or expulsion from WGT then so be it, my conscience is clear. I'm sure a look into my score history over the years will demonstrate clearly that I have never used any such software and am as honest a member as anyone else out there.

Yup, when a player openly admits to downloading cheating software and nothing happens to them.

A very Sad day in WGT land for sure! This game is broken period, and the people who run this game should be ashamed of themselves.

Totally understand what you said Tiffer, but i'm sorry mate downloading cheating software is against the rules.

I respect every word you have to say Tiffer, as you are one of the most highly respected players on this site.

I have no problem with wgtls site, they choose to do what they like, its their site. This on the other hand is WGT, and downloading cheating software is against the rules, period.

Rules are rules, how it goes, at least in the home i was brought up in. I also think that they all knew the rules before downloading it,,,no??

It is what it is, and time for them to go.

Or i guess we change the rules? Sorry mate it is what it is, and i have learned that from some of the best here. Best advice ever given.

Yes you are right Geraldarousse, rules are rules and should be adhered to. Real golf in particular can be seen as a sport that sticks strictly to their principles on this matter, as a result it quite rightly is seen as a sport that is beyond reproach on matters of integrity.

That said there are instances where sticking to the rules on matters of lesser indiscretions are seen as punitive and backward. I doubt there was one golfer around the world that didn't feel the pain of Mark Roe, after his disqualification from the 2003 British Open for failing to exchange his scorecard with Jesper Parnevik before play commenced. The R&A changed their rules on this matter at a later date.

This is after all a game and whilst cheating is a very serious matter, common sense should prevail in certain circumstances. I share your concerns, we just don't agree on this one point of discussion :^)
