To be honest, we dont really ecpect naming and shaming from that post by jcgfree, but the main thing that popped up till now is that people explain why sometimes there are irregularities in their gaming, such as a delay between swing and ding.

And so the post does exactly what was said: it educates and instead of accusations it gives us proper reasons which should take away the doubt we have .

There will be accusations anyway of course and we give in this post players the option to explain themselves what is happening when they are playing the game

Its an open discussion about a thing we all are worried about, cheating, unfair play, which is sadly a thing inherent to every computer game nowadays.

Its that more of a pity that rmchangin felt the need to bring this to WGT in a very non productive way with a lot of abusive language, not only in his original post but also along the way in his reactions. And as human as it can be, it attracks a lot of people reacting not only on the subject of cheating, but also in namecalling and abusive language themselves.

Simple question there is; Which post has more value, an open discussion about how to detect cheating, how to value it, how to discard it; or just having a big mouth, shouting from the rooftops what a miserable site wgtls is?

And btw rmchangin, you were kicked off wgtls for extreme abusive language and a complete disrespect for the site and his owner and still you came back, and we let you, hoping you would behave yourself.

Well, you fell back in your old behaviour and needless to say that you are really not welcome anymore. However, i have little doubt that you will create a new account and come back that way. Your friend Doc knows exactly how to do that.

I really dont get your fixation and hatred for WGTLS, we just organise competitions and tournaments and try to make it as fair as possible for everyone.

I personally did not know about holding the meter to get a smoother run, it would certainly be helpfull, because the irregularities in the meter is one of the most annoying problems in this game.

And thats just the information Jeff was seeking out with his post

    jcgfree:
    [...]

Then in that post, no where does it say or imply that if you are greyed out for more than 4 seconds your a cheat. Nor in this post does it say anything about players taking a long time to set up and execute the shot.

To me it leaves no doubt of your opinion that cheaters can be identified error-free that way.

    jcgfree:
IMO there is no reason that the menu area should be greyed out for more than 5-6 seconds, unless it is a short wedge shot, pitch, chip or a putt, where the player counts avatar movements.

[...] And for those that hold their meter longer than a count of 2, should maybe stop holding it so long (because there really isn't any reason you should hold it longer than that) so they don't get accused.

... and even now, you state that there be no other reason to do it.

Even more, you demand that players adapt their actions to your thinking. Ev1 to complete a swing in 4 seconds - huh?

I'm looking forward to playing with you after your recent friend invite. Be informed though that I use a CPU meter to include my computer's load into my timing. It takes a few seconds (3-10 usually) to drop before I take the backswing, but quite frequently the load doesn't act to my satisfaction during that phase, making me wait for the right moment while holding the backswing. Thus I must be considered a .15 to .2 cheat according to your thinking, despite of not using any extra program. Double that by noticing that I interrupt some backswings after 10+ secs if the CPU meter doesn't stop to run riot and the tolerance area is narrowing (notably during putts).

=> I must be a DANGEROUS cheat! ROTFL!

I'm afraid that some narrow view or lack of information limits the validity of your post. This backswing observation "identifes" cheaters with a similarily big margin of error than the completion %% identifies quitters.

    Edit: name mix-up

    MBaggese:
It's a pretty common thing to do for the past few years, since Andyson showed how holding the backswing stabilizes the CPU...via Task Manager monitoring.

This makes perfectly good sense. Specially if you have a low or medium end Computer. I myself hold the backswing for about a count of 2. My meter is always pretty smooth because I have my PC set up so I get the best performance for playing the game. I always figured that holding the backswing for a couple seconds, made sure the flash player or PC had time to catch up, so when I released the shot, the meter would be smooth.

This is got to be one of the funniest threads of all time here. So now they have discovered how to spot cheats, lol.

I do find it strange also that did not know about holding meter at top of swing to get smoother meter. How long have they been here?

Sorry to say if someone downloaded that crap and openly admitted to it, something should then happen to them???? How do we know they are not using it now?

I think if openly admit to downloading any cheat software should be automatic ban, huh?

Sorry i don't believe one word of that crap, period. The length some will go to win at a computer golf game is beyond me. Got to love it.

    Phone call??

    Lmao!

Edit: I would love to hear Icon's take on this, so what Icon downloading cheating software to check how it works is okay???? Yeah, can't wait for this one, lol. Please do not hide Icon, i would love to hear your opinion on this for sure!!

Never said it was error free. As you can see from RM's post  and copy of my original.

Now I know this isn't a fool proof way of accusing someone and I'm sorry to say that some innocent people will get accused, but I hope it will make players think twice about using the program to play the game

I don't know how you get that I "Demanded". out of "should maybe stop holding.....". And I sure did talk about other reasons you might hold your meter longer that 4 or 5 seconds. I talked about how some count avatar movements.

I can see where you might interpret things the way you did. And I'll be honest, I started that post there wanting to educate people on how you could tell if they were using the program or not. But then I realized that it would be good if people also knew other factors that there might be in the reason for the grey out being so long. So they wouldn't start accusing people just because they saw the grey out one time in a game. I've gone on to express in that post that it is the inconsistency of where you see it and where you are in the match or how important the shot is. I understand what you are saying about using your CPU meter. I would think it would have to be a low number of people that take their shots that way. Would someone think that you were using the program with the way you take a shot, using the grey out method? Sorry to say, they probably would. I never said that it was fool proof.

I never sent a friend invite to you, so I'm assuming that you are going to send one. I'm still waiting. : )

By reading these cheater posts and "how to detect a cheater" seems they've all been written by players who have actually tried out a cheat device and because these players have tried it out, they're trying to find the slightest fault in a player to start accusing them of cheating too.  To me It just seems like Its a case of guilty conscience.  Players because they've been using some device presume "most" players are just like themselves and use a device too so are "paranoid" of the slightest thing.  Honestly, if a player HAS to use a cheat device, Its because he's 5HIT at the game and needs It to score his/her 65. Will a player who cheats ever win credits from me. NO WAY.
