    Prepositions are not always OK to end a sentence with. I guess it depends on where you are at. "What did you step on?" works for me, though.

    If it's questionable, you should leave it off. Now I guess I'll log out.

    In reality, the most common reason for a prepositional ending being improper is because it's an unnecessary word (where are you at?).

    To twist a phrase as if it were spaghetti, merely to avoid putting the preposition on the end, seems strange and unwarranted.  That's strictly personal opinion. Highfalutin non-bubbas may disagree.
