Been playing for awhile now, but this is my first post...so let me preface this by saying, "Hello all my WGT friends."

However...I'm a bit put off by the fact that I can't wager a few meaningless WGT credits for some friendly competition against other players to add to the enjoyment of the game.

I live in Florida, and I can drive less than 1 hour away and play blackjack, slots, poker and any number of other games, and the state government has no problem with that. Also, they have no problem spending gobs of money on high dollar advertisements promoting the Florida Lottery system. However, this petty game is against the law. Well, somebody please tell me how spending your paycheck every week on $20 scratch offs, with no guarantee of success, is more lawful than wagering "credits" on a game you feel you have a decent grasp of?

I'm sure this topic has been discussed greatly, and I'm sorry for getting political, but I'm just a bit pissed right now!

LoL..im w/ ya Phair...living in the state of TN we are in the same boat.  The reason is b/c this is a "skill" game.  We can play something for money that doesn't involve skill...but our law doesnt let people bet on anything skill based.

That's exactly where I think the law is rediculous. Wouldn't you think in a "rational" society wagering would only be allowed in games in which skill is predominant?

Why would government feel that allowing people to plug money into a slot machine and pressing a button, which requires no skill other than simple manual dexterity, is more lawful than wagering money on a game in which you feel you have a good chance of winning?

I think that my state government is only trying to protect the ignorant at the expense of those of us who actually have a head on their shoulders, so to speak.

If I feel I have a good grasp of this game, and think I can earn a fair amount of credits to upgrade equipment, I don't see what's wrong with that. If you want to spend your paycheck waiting for triple 7's to show up on the slot screen, it may be a rediculous pipe dream, but I don't see what's wrong with that either.
