I currently have only default equipment.  My plan is to spend 800 credits on Taylor Made Ghost Spider Putter when I reach level 35 and unlock it.  Current level is 28.  Is that a decent idea for a first equipment purchase?

putter, 3 wedges and driver or 3wood, in that order.

Maybe worth waiting until u can get the level 48 raptures or something similar, level up to give urself more choice.

OEJ is correct.. Or I agree with the idea of waiting until you reach a level that allows you a better selection.. A free rental weekend is a great time to make a choice as to what kind of clubs you'd like to buy..  My advice is to play using some decent golf balls.. The better golf balls make a difference..

As lower tier putters go, I like the Odyssey Versa putter.  I had the Spider and had lots of "near makes".  Been playing much better with the Versa ... and I play with the original Spider putter in real golf.

One more suggestion, whatever you buy, stick with it.  It's your putter that wins or loses the hole.  I'll probably upgrade my lower level Versa with the level 70 Versa putter.  Same meter speed, just a bit better balance.

I'd wait a while and get used to the different courses. Wedges are the most important clubs in this game when you do start buying.

I've bought almost every putter in the pro shop including L92. I sti;; go back to the Begginer putter, nice and slow. and if you use the miss ding method it works OK. But then again my putting stats are rubbish

That putter hasn't been available for a long time so I believe. I never got one.

Two wedges, 3WD/driver, that's a good and budget start.

Third wedge only when custom irons open the gap, putter when you have acquired an idea of putting.

I didnt start buy clubs before i was close to mastertier and at that time i was on a lvl so i had a wide choice of clubs, 2 wedges, 3 if you wana get rid off you hybrid, needs a good iron instead, 3w/Driver and last i start try putters, rented them and find the 1 i had best feel with. If you are unsure about it is the right club for you, rent it 1 day, and try it out in several games, so you find out how it works for you!

Probably so.  And I do agree that your wedges will be VERY imortant when you get used to the different courses.  A good putter is a must though so your money will be well spent there.  It dosen't matter what you do to get onto the green but once on it you should have a good putter.  Good putting is everything in this game!
