How much does knowing the course from here help?
Helped in a few spots, for example knowing how much of the corner to confidently cut on the #2 tee shot. And knowing about the mulch area on 3 that would come into play with a driver but isn't visible from the tee, etc. Had a caddy both rounds and they were really good about giving target lines and areas to avoid, so even without the WGT knowledge it would of been ok.
Todays round started off well with an E thru 3 start, but reality quickly set in after we turned into the wind. Was +10 thru 13 when a torrential downpour set in. Played the final 5 holes +10 after being soaked head to toe on the 13th hole. They have a shuttle service to pick you up during rain delays, but we were the absolute furthest point from the clubhouse so instead we took shelter in the bathroom building between 13 and 14 where I took this video.
Few other pics/vids from the round
Tee shot on 3, pretty solid 3w down the center to 140, hit a 9i to 5 ft for the only birdie of my round.
Tee shot on 6, good drive just barely into the right rough.
The way way way back tee on 14. Caddy said they built it for last years PGA champ, and only used it 1 of the 4 rounds, where there was 1 birdie carded all day that day!
Brother putting on 14 with the recently added green pond :) Added at approximately 2:30 pm today to be exact. Caddy has been there a long time (he was there for the WGT photo shoot) and said he'd never seen a pond there.
Short left of 16, luckily didn't hit it down there, just went down to take a photo, looks nasty!
Great place to enjoy a couple cold drinks after the round.
Scorecard. Not toooo bad until we got completely soaked, was tough with wet gloves, grips, and waterlogged course.
