Largely disapointed with Slow Greens. Someone tell me the last time the real US Open had a stimp of anything less than 13.

Slow is probly a stimp of 9, its just not realistic for an Open.

WGT, the most realistic golf game on the net!!

The  real US Open at Merion this year had some pretty slow greens during the first round because of the tremendous rains just before the Tourney. I remember Johnny Miller say they were rolling no faster than 10. Perhaps WGT is trying to mimic the actual first round as it played?

which would be fine if the virtual open was 4 rounds and they had 3 rounds to mess with us. Not in this case........

56 or prob a 54 is unacceptable IMO, unless under the hardest conditions they can throw at us and someone shoots out their ***!

I was so looking forward to playing in really high winds and champ greens....seemed to be all the hype surrounding this year's Open.

If I'm around for next years....I'm gonna dedicate this anthem to it.

there's still many days left to practice hitting the darts in with pretty much full bs for the tap ins.

as Jeff said above....the US Open's meant to be a tough challenge...just as we seen on Merion this year with no one on the leaderboard under par at one stage.

    good luck to all.

I didn't qualify so perhaps my opinion is a little skewed but the folks who were able to qualify are pretty damn good. The scoring of the first round is a reflection of the ability of the players.  Scores are all relative anyway and the leader has only a one stroke lead.

Was a decent round with slow greens, came in with a 57 in first round.

Missed a few easy birdies and metered the crap out of myself on the 5th hole.  Left a 40 footer to make bird, salvaged par though.  Hole 15 plays really slow, I gave it an extra 1.5 feet on the meter for the putt and still came up 1 foot short.  So try to hit that with some extra umph (3.5 feet more than needed).

That would be 2013-1st day at Merion-rain soaked greens, all players going at pin.

Then there was 2008 Lucas Glover and Ricky Barnes at Bethpage-so wet took 5 days to play.

I can keep going all the way back to 1913 when Francis Ouimet (pronounced wee-may)

played in a rain storm that forced players to continue with standing water on the greens-stimp meter approx 3 (wet areas/ 7-8 in higher ground)--where Quimet won by 5 strokes in a playoff vs Vardon and Ray

Bottom line-we all have to play under same conditions-so tee up and play!

Lisa, you're right, of course...the best will adapt and survive, and that's how it should be.  I'm just happy to have qualified and to have gotten to sniff the rarefied air.

Is there any cigar smoke wafting about in that rarefied air?
