The second round will be played on Merion Back 9.  From the Orange(Hard Tees), with very fast greens, and high wind.  Please make sure to post your score card on here or email into member@worldgolftour.com.  All scores must be submitted by Next Tuesday.  That should give all players the chance to finish.  If you are having problems with setting up your match please play a ranked round on Merion Back 9.  Please then post that score card.

Can't help but agree with Nikic and Simo.....

Skype CC are withdrawing their teams from this Comp.

I have to say, I would have expected a tournament run by WGT staff to be run with a little more diligence than this one has been!

    Regards

    BC17

Only 2 of your 4 players played or didn't send in score cards.  I am sorry you feel that it is not being run correctly but if your players didn't play can't blame me for that one.

As an outsider looking in i gotta say this Tournament is nothing short of a shambles. As for your veiled attempt at having a go at BC for pulling his team because 2 of his players haven't sent in scorecards, just shows what lack of understanding you have over your own Tournament  lol.Because the 2 players that haven't posted scorecards as you put it Haven't been able to get their matches arranged with their oppo's hence the post from Dazza on previous page that 2 of his players haven't played their Blitz round yet because of timezone differences and will attempt to get it done with markers. Not saying they will but with a marker anyone can keep restarting till they get a decent score, and then post their scorecards to you(this isn't directed at you Dazza m8 or your team) just saying.

I was looking forward to how this Tournament was going to pan out aswell, such a shame.

He was withdrawn because his teams didn't win.  The two scores posted were not enough to win.

Shoe....tt seems you don't even understand your own first round rules of the tournament.  Neither of our teams lost as there was only one score submitted for each team.

You didn't enforce your own deadlines for the first round and didn't give any guidance or communication on rulings for those who couldn't get their rounds played through no fault of their own.

To suggest that was the reason our club was withdrawn is at the very least being over sensitive to your own shortcomings as the tournament organizer.

Please refer back to Page 12 of this thread....

"Congrats to the winners so far.  Some great scores being posted so far with the starter equipment.

A question has arose, if your not able to set up the match with the opposing club what should be done? Please play a blitz game with a CC member of your choosing so your score can be counted towards the total."

If you look through the thread many other players posted scores that they played with a fellow CC member.  You also could of sent me a private message stating your issues and asking what should be done as some other players did.

    Curious.

I just went through 20 pages in the thread again ... can't seem to find a scoreboard .   Is there one hidden in here to show how this is shaping up ?

Maybe add a link on the first page if there is scoreboard being kept.

    Thanks,

    WGTdbloshoe:

Do you think you have the best country club on WGT?  Prove it by playing in the Country Club tournament, where you will be competing against other clubs on WGT.  This will be a 16 Country Club tournament with 4 players, and one alternate, from each Country Club playing in different style games to determine the best playing Club on WGT.

Each Country Club will have 4 players entered and one alternate.  The 4 players will be split into two 2 player teams.  The alternate player will be there just in case one player is unable to compete in one of the rounds.

These teams will compete in different sides of the brackets.  All the games will be played in practice mode and all score cards will either need to be emailed in or posted on the forums.  That job will fall to the winning player.  Each round will consist of a different game play and different combinations of clubs.  Start practicing all your shots, you may not have a club in the bag.

What I am looking for is the first 16 country club owners to sign up.  Once I get that I will request the names of the 4 players and one alternate.  There no restriction on the players who are being entered, and the only requirement for Country Club size, is you must have at least 5 members.  So big or small if you think your club has got what it takes to win get your owner to sign up.

    Rules

    - 16 country clubs 4 players from each club in two man teams one alternate player available if another player cannot make match.

    - Teams put into different sides of bracket so one club can have two teams in final

    - Games will be played in practice mode and score cards will need to be emailed in to members@worldgolftour.com or posted in this thread.

    - All rounds will have a completion time and date

    - This meant to be fun so please let's keep it that way.

You make no sense. Why set up a ranked round on the front if you can't set up your match? The tourney is played on the back. Also, if you play by yourself, who makes sure you don't use your wedges?

What next, let people pick their own scores??

Mis typed.  Originally was going to be front nine but switched to back 9 sorry for the confusion.  I am hoping players will be able set up their matches in the time allotted.  If not then I hope they will be honest and stick to the rules.

dbloshoe - feel i need to give my opinion.....

it takes a fair bit of effort to run a tourny. It aint easy, but please listen to people. They have played many tourneys and know what is good and what is not. Most players don't moan without a reason!

    • leaderboard
    • clear instructions
    • enforced deadlines
    • attention to detail
    • Easy to find relevant info

these all go towards a successful tourny.

A ranked round?. Far easier for some to 'forget to not use wedges' and also avoids heavy winds?!?

And still, you insist on putting Round 2 details on page 18 (or whatever) and course conditions etc on Page 19/20 (or whatever).

As it stands, all a bit shabby in my opinion but nothing a bit of heeding advice can't sort out. I shall say no more....

    Good stuff Graem.

I'd add that after a first post is created, make a 2nd post and keep it reserved for updating information.

That said, mercy all the negative stuff, this is just a fun tourney for some bragging rights, but maybe, just maybe, Shoe will be able to go back to the Brass at WGT and say "We really need a good way to organize community tourneys"...which is something many have been asking for years.

    I/e

    Announce tourney

Sign up see rules and conditions, etc

Play in the the tourney have the cards automatically posted..have the time limits set...

Based on first round results, 2nd round it set and so on.

I'm sure it wouldn't be an easy, simple 10 minute programming thing, but sure would make the community happy;)
