Since the closing of Tiger Woods Online Golf at the beginning of this summer, how many players from over there are giving WGT a try? I know I use to play that arcadish game for quite some time until discovering this game. I've signed up for Perfect Parallel Golf but after sifting through the forums on there, it doesn't appear to be launching until sometime in 2014. It also is a PC golf game with some stunning graphics and also will include a course architect to design courses. Looks interesting but we'll have to see if and when it ever lauches.

I believe it's due to a lack of consumers playing it online as much as they use to. So no more funds in supporting it online. But they keep coming out with the game every year so what gives?

Especially the new one with real live weather implemented into the course you happen to be playing at the time. How will they still allow this feature once online support is gone?

Amazingly FIFA  world soccer has more players and is still going strong online.

I have played TW and firmly believe that WGT is a much better program.  My only wish is that WGT could launch more than one HD course per year.  I understand it is very time consuming and expensive but a few more great courses would be nice.  I am still hoping WGT could somehow lauch Torrey Pines, North and South courses which are virtually in my back yard. Would also LOVE to see Pebble Beach and Sawgrass. Maybe it's just a dream but sometimes, just sometimes dreams do come true!  Hope to see more players come over to WGT......

Is this fact or opinion ?

How many people are leaving WGT for PP? I hope WGT doesn't meet the same fate as TWO.

I'm concerned because PP is a very sophisticated golf sim with a lot of features, and 3D graphics that look 98% as good as WGT.

Richrd PP went from being the next great online golf  sim to disk based PC and console game and they keep pushing the release date further and further into the future. Dont expect to be anything that can rival WGT.

IMO you wont get a truely great golf game in any other format than PC or console, flash/cloud based games have too many limitations. Imagine what you could create on a proper 3d engine..

Mostly facts, read it last time I was on their website when I played it online. Have 3 versions of Tiger Woods, and back in 2006 they had many issues with uploading you Gamer Pic and the server had issues as well. Got a little better with Tiger Woods 12 & 13 but pissed a lot of players off when they realized after purchasing it for $60.00 you still needed to download additional courses at a cost. I think the combination of finances for them being most important then the consumers buying their product, is really how it spiraled down hill. Online support went to crap quick. I know for a fact I kept getting "server is not available" back then (2006) when I wanted to play online. I even had to go out and buy an Xbox camera, which was hard to find (prehistoric) just to upload my gamer pic. It was that bad.

    My Versions: 2006, 2009, 2012

On the contrary ......I am not going to lay my resume out but..........WGT was brilliant in having it be a flash based game for many obvious reasons. The main reason is this ....computers are not consoles and every one is setup differently from the hardware down to the users . Most players on WGT couldnt even run a 3d engine game without having to upgrade their video cards, memory, harddrive etc etc etc . That is where TW failed miserably in the mid 2000's.

Consoles are much easier as they are all the same as far as graphics ram etc etc. Get where I am going ?

Needless to say WGT has people playing a golf sim whom otherwise would not be able to due to their computer limitations. The worst thing happening is browser issues and internet connections causing meter skips . Im playing this game with no real meter issues or disconnects on a very low end rig. Personally I am amazed how smooth this game plays as it is limited to flash platform !

WGT if they closed shop today has made millions on a single game ! No patches no cds no scams just a plain old golf sim and free if you really wanted to play it that way !

Just my opinion. BTW I have played plenty of golf sims over the years and remember forking over 500 bucks for a Radeon Pro graphics card just to be able to see trees and water move in TW 2004 LOLLOL What a waste.
