I see your point but essentially this game is a 2d arcade game, it is fundamentally limited in terms of user experience, there is nothing to explore, once you've played a course a few times you've seen all the visuals you're ever going to see.

I disagree that a game running on a 3d engine wouldnt be able to be ran by most users here, anyone who can run this game could run a 3d game running on the old quake engine for example.

well, if PP won't have online web based functionality in terms of play & interaction, then i'll have no interest in it .. will just be another console/pc game .. the online playability and community is a major draw card for WGT

U.S traffic for June on the WGT and The Golf Channel websites .

Pretty flat.  There was no huge, if any, influx of players from TWO which shut down on June 6th.

Data compiled from https://siteanalytics.compete.com/wgt.com/?metric=uv and https://siteanalytics.compete.com/golfchannel.com/?metric=uv

These online golf games come and go. WGT will be the same, it's not going to last forever. It's already phasing out in the fact that your not seeing new courses as much every year. PGA2000 was a great game as well as Links.....gone. Perfect Parallel might be like John Daly Prostroke Golf, it made it 1 year because of the fact they were suppose to offer online golf but only did for the console versions. The fact is, these golf games come and go and this game will too. It might be a couple years down the road. PP looks to run on Unity which TW online did too. It's not a bad engine for online but it had its flaws as well. You will probably pay $60 for the DVD/PC for PP and end up dumping loads of money into it just to hit the fairways. Time will tell!!!

Great information. One thing this chart really points out, is why WGT is not adding courses or making the changes the members are constantly asking for. WGT has reached the dreaded flatline position. It looks like for the last 18 months there has been no real improvement in participatation, overall looking at this chart it probably has declined, with the peaks being in the golf season and the valleys the rest of the time. If this was a heart monitor it would be time to call in the family.

    BuddhaDharma:

I am still hoping WGT could somehow lauch Torrey Pines, North and South courses which are virtually in my back yard. Would also LOVE to see Pebble Beach and Sawgrass.

I think there are plenty of US courses, there's a whole world out there. This isn't baseball. America isn't a world series or tour.

I agree with you 100%  Just in San Diego alone we have over 100 courses to play.  I know there are some fantastic courses outside of the U.S.  To be honest with you St. Andrews and Royal St. Georges are two of my personal favorites.  Wouldn't it be great to see some more courses from around the world?  Unfortunately It's very expensive to put the HD courses together and I'm sure that's why we only see one per year.  Well, I will keep my fingers crossed.  The only reason I mentioned the three courses I did is that they are very challenging, and I love a good challenge!

    Cheers!  Vic  (BuddhaDharma).

Links 2003 is not gone,,there are still a lot of us playing it on Gameranger.com and on Ventrilo ,,and is still by far best Golf Sim out there.

graphics here are great ,but the game play is lame compared to Links 2003
