If Westwood choked then so did most of the field. Who scored the best rounds on the final day? Phil did the best score and duly won it. Poulter also played well to shoot a 67 and come joint third.
Westwood shot a 75 and Woods a 74. So Westwood choked but Woods didn't? You are only saying Westwood choked because he was in the lead by a few strokes going into the final round. Did Woods not choke?
75 on this course was not what you call choking, look at the average scores. Greg Norman and Faldo at the Masters, now you might say Norman choked then, but this is totally different.
Nicklaus and Wood you can't compare. Two different eras, but if anything you would side with Nicklaus. Think about the equipment back then, totally different. The courses were not as well maintained as they are now. Now players complain about everything. The rough is the wrong type, the wind too strong/wrong direction, greens too fast /slow. If the ball does not land perfectly accoring to their calculations, then the course must be unfair. Reminds me of the people on here complaing about VEM.
Nicklaus had strong competition, but Woods at his peak was way ahead of the rest of the field. So who had it tougher? The debate will go on forever.
