    lvietri:

Not to support either side but.

I think WGT got Dan confused with Danmark .... who is on the chit list .. and thats why he got F'd ...

    Just saying .... :)

You have to run this as a business, and not make it personal. I have no idea what WGTs reason is on why this happen , but the professional thing to do is admit the mistake and make good, with awarding the prize ,and a public apology to Dan.

Of course your right WW - hope you know I was kidding.     Dan's a class act ... and I'm sure he knows it takes forever to get anything announced on WGT.     I it would be disheartening to believe there is anyone with an axe to grind about Dan.  (or anyone for that matter)

As far as WGT responding anyone who's been around a while knows... 1) they won't do it publicly .. Icon is only a forum moderator .. I would guess (and it's just a guess) they will contact him in private and 2) the post got made on Saturday ... it's doubtful anyone but Forum Moderators will even see anything over the weekend and they don't have the ability to do anything meaningful with this.

Whats needed is an announcement  ---- an apology .. I'm not so sure.

    --------------

By the way .. Congrats Dan .. nice wins :)

My intent was never to hurt anyone but to express how I feel I have been treated by WGT the company. Its not about the accolades or the money, its about being treated the same way as everyone else. I do know that it does take time to distribute the prizes and I'm confident that WGT will eventually pay me mine. Just not as fast as I would like but regardless. They have always paid me in the past.

I've never been very good with expressing my feelings with words but I've thought of a little scenario to help me to explain my situation better.

Lets say, you go into a cassino and sit down at the dollar slot machines and start to play. You hear sirens and bells go off when someone else hits a jackpot every so often and you see an attendant rush over and congratulate that person and tell them how to recieve his or her prize in the front of the cassino. You start to play more intensely now and all of a sudden Bam! you hit the jackpot! except this time no sirens, bells or attendant for you. Just a little message pops up in the LED screen on the machine that says you can recieve your prize quietly in the back of the casino. You shrug it off as a machine glitch and move on. A day later you feel lucky and go try it again at the same casino but the same scenario plays out again. You shrug that off and try it again on another day but the same thing keeps happening again and again.

What are you suposed to think at this point? I'm just the unluckiest luckiest player to live or could it be that someone who is in charge at that cassino is treating you differently then the other winners.

    Why?

Anyway, Thank you Icon for addressing my post and for all the help you have given me in the past. WGTBOBBYSWORLD also has contacted me and assured me this will be looked into ASAP.

Everyone else, Thanks you so much for your support. I'm overwhelmed!

Equality is all I'm asking for!

    WGTicon:

    Dan,

As someone who has been in touch with our team for years, you and I know that the best way to handle this, is in private. I have not heard of any of the issues from you or I would have obviously looked into it.

Right now, I do not know what's the issue with every one of those, but until I had a chance to check into it, there is nothing I else I can say.

Once we have news, we will contact you privately.

As a matter of principle, I think it's a little too late to handle this privately. Others are affected by WGT's offfer of priizes that never get paid. Certainly not to the extent of Dan's major wins but still, members should know if this is corrected.

I for one do not intend to enter any contest with the prospect of winning nothing.

All of the events that Dan cited were public-posted events for all to see. It is only logical that the outcome of this issue be made known to all who are interested.

Transparency is a good thing---sweeping it under the carpet is not.

If there is concern about the image of those running the contest, prize distribution & awards, then resolve this and make the announcement public.

    Just do the right thing!

Let's be clear about one thing: Dan never said that he did not get even 1 prize he won.  His point is the delays - which I totally understand.

As for your statement "Others are affected by WGT's offfer of priizes that never get paid. " I would like to see that example to be more concrete, where someone won something and did not get it.

If you are referring to usga hats, then those are fulfilled by usga from the email survey they sent out. I realize that some did not get it but that's likely can be for few different reasons, such as: never got email or filled it out or it got lost in email. But it's definitely not something on our end.

    Hi everyone

I checked on our end, and here is the reply you all are waiting for :)

    -          The VUSO Front 9 and Back 9 tournaments have both “leaderboard” and “sweepstakes” winners, and WGT has been waiting to confirm BOTH winners so that we can announce them together. The purpose is so the WGT community can see there are multiple ways to win prizes.

Confirming “sweepstakes” winners can take days, weeks or months, as WGT needs to wait for those players to reply and officially accept their prize, which is a legal requirement per the tournament rules. For the VUSO Front 9, we have contacted more than 5 players to locate a “sweepstakes” winner and are still waiting for a confirmation.

Only after a sweepstakes winner is confirmed are the prizes awarded to players. This is the reason for the delays in receiving the prizes from the USGA.

    -          Regarding comments about the VUSO Qualifier prizes from the USGA, this year mailing addresses were taken from those players’ WGT Accounts and sent to the USGA, which should mail those prizes sometime in August, like in previous years.
