I have been playing here at WGT for over eight months.  For the past six months I have kept a record of my shots in an MSword doc so I would know how to shoot the same shot next time.  Now after this last maintenance disaster that the WGT programmers have forced on the players, everything is screwed up.  ALL my shots are falling short.  During the games, that is what most of the talk is about, and it’s not happy talk.  I played a game with a master today who shot 6 over and said he had not shot 6 over since he was a pro… not a happy camper.  Same thing… all his shots were falling short.  He too said he didn’t want to learn everything all over again.  I am not about to start a new sheet because either (1) The programmers think it’s funny that no one is playing at the level as they have worked themselves up to, or (2) They are incompetent.   Again, (1) They like screwing with people and pissing them off, or (2) They don’t know what they’re doing.  It’s almost like you had really good programmers who created this game, and then they left leaving amateur programmers who are still trying to figure out how to program this site. After playing here for eight months the game will still give you a 150 putter if you are 10 feet from the hole if you are on the fringe.  That is a “don’t give a damn” attitude.  Your FIRST rule should be… “do no harm!”

Who and I?  A retired programmer and can see the incompetence of what they call maintenance.  So… here is my suggestion.  Hire new programmers that want to keep your players happy and buying products like clubs and balls, because if they continue pissing off everyone with their incompetent programming people are going to start looking for other golf sites.  You may have the best site now, but if you keep this level of programming up, in the future you WILL lose customers to them!  I may not be the best programmer in the world, but I have enough sense to keep from screwing things up.  If you can’t do maintenance without screwing things up, then leave it alone!!!

Wow thanks Denn. I knew there was a reason I sucked so bad at this game. I thought it was because I was lousy at this. What a releaf to know its the programmers.

Well that "maintenance disaster that was forced upon us" did wonders here, the smoother and slower meter were much appreciated. But as you know so much more about these things than I, I must be wrong.

I've been saying for years that the programming here is abysmal.

... let alone the customer service.

But at least one is on the improve, slightly.

Your smoother meter is the only one Courteney.  I've seen 3 players quit a game since the maintenance because of their meter screwing up so bad.
