Have owned a country club in game for the past year, yet have not advertised it. Club is looking for members of all tiers, preferably active higher-ranked players as mentors and lower-tier players (Hacks, Ams, and Pros) as playing partners. Will plan on hosting monthly free tourneys within the club once more members come in. Still plenty of spots available as of today.

Thank you and good luck to all fellow golfers

    Alex,

I joined two C.C's in the past...left them both as they were fairly inactive without much comunication between members.  A friendly suggestion, your club has only one active player...you...there won't be a lot of higher tier players looking to join a basically inactive club Perhaps I may suggest recruiting Am's, Pro's, T.P's and all working toward higher tiers in the club...I think you'll attract more players with an active club...all that being said, although i'm far from being in "the elite" players group here, I'd always be happy to try and provide some tips in any game format.

    good luck...Duc

What would be a good suggestion for me to do as an owner then? Should I restart my club fresh and go at this process again or drop everyone from the club that's inactive and fill their spots with the Ams, Pros, and TPs we agree are needed?

    A few suggestions:

check your members....are they playing other types of games (your CC only shows last round played---as in stroke play). If they are playing other types of games, they are still active...get some more members and then start setting up events. If they aren't playing WGT at all, no point having them in your CC.

play some blitz's or alt shots and select Am, Pro or Tour Pro tiers...often, these are the newer players and may be interested in joining a CC. You have a good recruiting base from those games.

Ask if they are members of a CC...don't poach from other CC's

Most importantly have CC matches, tournaments and lot's of communication....that's what kills most of them...lack of a reason to be a member.

Go into the WGT Community link and find some big CCs and then find the owner and drop him/her a wall post asking for some suggestions on organising events...how they stay engaged, etc.

Here's an idea...not sure if anyone is using it...Have a "Beat the Tour Legend/Legend event"...Invite a quality player to set a score (closet to the hole, stroke play round, blitz score, etc) and have your members try and beat it or come close...winner gets a sleeve or two.....or. maybe winner gets some one on one advice during a round with that same Tour Legend/Legend.... things like that will keep it fun and active.

I do what I can. It isn't much as it is, but it's what I've got and what I have to work with
