Recently upgraded from starter putter to to the Ghost Spider (the 800 CR one). I'm having a heck of a time with the distance changes from the starter to the GS. 15 ft = 3 putter movements @ 5 ft each.. Got it - but after that it's a total mystery. Any Advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    hi

i would suggest go to a flat green, like b1 or 3 and hit for each breakpoint and map it out. i usually just eye it.

There are no distance variations between putters or balls. Of course the different scales will involve changes, but a 10 foot shot stays a 10 foot shot regardless.

There are differences between the green speeds, both in putting lengths and slope reaction. See "Putting Tips" there ==>

@Icon: b1, is that Bethpage hole 1? It's not quite flat with 20 inch elevation from the front fringe to the back pin, is it?

Thanks for the replies from all and yes, I think with some study (and a lot of practice) the chart will be very useful. Appreciate the advice. I can see quite a few practice putting rounds in my future!

    (putt distance chart)

Your chart needs some modification... there are two different green speeds called "Tournament". In a multiplayer game, if the highest-tier player is a Legend or Tour Legend, the green speed will be the fast Tournament speed. If the highest-tier player is a Tour Master, the green speed will be the slow Tournament speed.

Is this true? Ball distance dots (or lack thereof) do not affect putt distances?

Thanks for the support, Dazza. Your chart shows "Tour Master" Tournament speed @130 % length.

Tournament II, "Legend" speed, would be 135 %.

Balls act the same on greens. Although the meter speeds may vary. The thing that surprises me here is that Icon considers Bethpage one to be a flat green.

Flat, it might be, level, it certainly isn't.
