You seem to be playing from a different fairway, my friend. Try this thread:

    http://www.wgt.com/forums/p/17620/103736.aspx#103736

Or plug 'lost ball' into the search box.

    Or use the bug log.

Yeah Champion Tier can sound old, but when I think Grand Master, I for some reason keep thinking KKK.

    That's "Grand Wizard".

"Grand Master" is fine.  "Legend" does sound a bit...errr... deceased.

How about naming the tiers after famous courses or would that be too confusing.  You could start with St Andrews Old Course as the highest tier and based on the crap that happened last weekend use the Whistling Straits as the hack   lol

I would also suggest that naming the tiers after famous players might be an idea as well although most of the younger players probably don't know who Harry Varden or Bobby Jones are.

Perhaps I worded my post the wrong way VHL. The members ripping apart this new idea WGT is trying to implement into the game does not convey constructive feedback. That is what I was intending for my earlier post to say.

I believe WGT is looking for ideas from the members to implement in the new tiers and levels idea, not an opinion. I don't see how what we think about the new tiers and levels helps WGT with a decision on how to actually implement the ideas in a fair and constructive manner for the game. The members are free to post what they want, but I say let's put our heads together and come-up with some ideas for this much needed idea, the sooner the better. That's all I'm saying.  : )

Now, here's my contribution to an idea on tier names.

Why not keep the same names we already have. Just move the members to their perspective tiers through levels.

The Master tier would include the top players, or the elite players period.

The Pro, and Pro+ tiers would include those Masters with a lower average.

The Amateur, and Amateur+ tier would be those players at the Pro level, or just below.

The Hack tier is for beginners (new members)

Implement this with the other ideas WGTalex laid-out in the beginning of this thread.

That's my 2 cents. I tell you, it's a complex idea, but one we all need to see in the game.  : )

I think it does RIchard, just because it goes against WGT's plan doesn't mean it isn't valuable feedback. The original reputation tracking was a good example of this. Many players cautioned WGT and begged and pleaded for them to think this thru before it took effect, and look how that ended up. Feedback does not have to agree with the proposed changes to be constructive, it just has to be, well, constructive!

Sure they are looking for ideas, but any good developer will cherish and treasure opinions as well - especially when it comes from those who have used this game the longest, and have that perspective behind their opinion. I fully understand the frustration when it comes to dealing with others who have a different opinion or a different pov, but a bit more critical thinking and a bit more hesitation and thought before any knee-jerk replies are posted are what is really needed in these forums.

I agree with you that working together is the most efficient means to an end, but hopefully we can all (myself included) realize that sometimes those people yelling 'no-no-no' at the top of their keyboards have some merit to their posts, also. I'll battle my point to no end, but I'm also thoughtful enough to objectively consider any other viewpoint right along with mine.
