    Lapeer:

WGT, your missing the point of creating a great game because of your drive to get more capital.  You need some investors, rather then nickel and diming your customers.

not on point    but     geeeze,    makes me wonder what you do for a living.  Investors want a return on their investment,   soooooo   the only way to get investors is to show the potential to generate  revenue.  That is capitalism!!   Where  do you think your money comes from,   people just being nice?!

not sure if this is right place   for this but    why should i or anyone else take  a penalty or get disqualified  from a game  because the shot clock runs out  due to  changing from forward  to reverse view    the reverse  view won't load

    This is the wrong place.

The quote about WGT nickel and diming their players makes no sense.  If I as an investor invest $1,000,000 into WGT, I am going to expect a high return since it is a start up and risky investment.  Probably require a return of 15% per year over 5 years with no return in the first two years but by the end of 5, I would expect a return of around $750,000.  The money generated now just helps to pay the folks and continue the ability to improve things until it can come out of beta.

Pretty gutted that I didn't read about these changes a week ago because some friends have been buying me the clubs I wanted and now the ones they bought me are 25% cheaper and being discontinued. Talk about bad timing.

    BolloxInBruges:
If competent sandbaggers are using the same equip as me, from 2 or 3 teeboxes ahead of me, what chance do I have to win if it is a credit match for example?

The same advantage as we have now. If we (Master) play an amateur, they tee-off ahead of us right? Like now, we have to rely on our ability to beat them. I say who cares if they have the same equipment, they don't have our abilities. See what I mean?

Give a Hack a G-10 iron and they won't know what to do with it. What you already know about a G-10 iron will take a Hack month's to figure out, by then, your even better then you were when the Hack started. WGT makes their money on the sale, and everyone's happy.  No?

Hey: Just want to take a moment to congratulate WGT on another wierd and wonderful "money grabbing ploy" What a joke !! I suggest to you better players on site, don't make the top tier or 2,i'm sure within a short period of time,a shirt and tie will be required to compete at those levels.(Available at the Pro Shop at 20 bucks a shot) And,don't forget to upgrade your equipment, they'll give you 10 or 15% of what you paid for trade in. AWESOME,lol. I really think it's about time WGT started to fix the growing number of things that are broke, instead of adding more headaches and expense for the players that play to have fun and meet nice folks from all over the world. think about it players...the next time you have a SUPER game going, only to be screwed up by a meter stutter or 2 or 3, send me a note and let me know again how wondeful this site is. Have a nice day players, and,to whoever is coming up with these ridiculous, money grabbing schemes, give your head a shake will ya.

Don't have a problem with the new tiers but I think that the availability of the equipment to all levels will be a disaster. I agree with BolloxinBruges ... if players can access the same equipment as I, yet have a 50 yard tee advantage, the upper level players won't have a chance. In addition, the sandbagging rate will triple pretty quickly.

Master level players already have distinctive additional course difficulties to deal with because we didn't bag our scores. Let's not make the playing field even more uneven. Even in the real game, there are only 3 or 4 super-players in the world. There will always be players who, because of pure skill or intense practice habits will rank higher than the rest but you can't redesign every course, ball or club to penalize them for the benefit of the rest.

    Question.

I just leveled master 3 weeks ago with only 1 round of 29 (I had like 1x30 before). I can tell that the master level is quite steep. I was wondering where i'll start with the new ranks. My guess is master but is there any way that we start one level lower?

Great move anyway, I know I am not the level of real masters. Thx for this.

Seems to me the main issue is sandbagging.  In MP I can avoid playing against players from a different tier. Sandbagging is a problem in mixed tier tourneys such as RG's, and that is where the money is for the good players: it's understandable that we are concerned about others with the same equipment and a false rank teeing off from easier tees. I might not play RGs any more if this new system proofs faulty.

Why not divide RGs into tiers like the weekly tourneys then ??

And why not count only SINGLE tournament rounds for the ranking system? That's how it works in reality, after all.

Just a couple of thoughts - perhaps counting more rounds towards one's rating { best 10 of last 20, say instead of last 14} would diminish effects of sandbagging. Also adding some sort of rating based on matchplay performance would be helpful. It would also be nice if awards like longest drive or putt were issued for matchplay as well as stroke. I see Bollux's point but I don't think there's much WGT can do. If you're that worried about sandbaggers then maybe you shoul avoid credit matches.
