Maybe try playing with the free balls??

Is there really much of a difference with the ones you have to pay for?

I am limited in the number of credits that I can earn for free, and as yet hav enot put my hand into my pocket to spend any cash - so, I mainly play with the free ones!

Try it! I guess I am yet to be convinced that there is any real benifit .....

Obviously there is a difference, the only reason to pay less or more for custom balls. Much of a difference? That depends on the balls and on the clubs.

Major difference from the cheapest ball up is the "feel" - meter speed. Every custom ball has a slower meter than the Starters.

Second general difference is precision IMHO - even with Starter clubs you get better shot results. These two together - less deviation from ding and higher precision - are essential for hitting greens instead of missing them.

Third is the spin effect. Custom balls have different spin dots, but they all have more spin than Starters.

Fourth is distance with equal shots. Though I don't like it, it can be essential for top players if they can pass a hazard, reach a green with a shot less or with better precision from a closer lie.

I'm sure there are more advantages...

On the downside, the price. Custom balls eat credits constantly. Ball life is limited (90-125 hits), and balls get lost. Cheap balls may be equivalent to 1 credit per 9 hole game (stroke and matchplay), the SDs are about 6 crs, Callies 25(?) and top Nikes 50 crs or more.

Furtheron, sometimes I experience what a few players report here, the meter may show less reliability (more stutters) for higher quality balls.

I dont really see a issue with the pricing of balls. I normally play the callaways and I can fire darts with those usually.  For 12 balls its 10$ which aint too bad (can last me prob 1-2 weeks depending on how much I play)

I dont go out and play on a real course so I guess its ok for me to spend it on balls here on WGT

In actual fact, when the open qualifier came out, I did buy nikes and those are nice but I have played years without them and dont need them on a daily basis.

I think it should be looked at a few different ways.

If you (third person) want's to play with the best balls, but have to put money out of pocket for them, it's costly...but if you can afford them, then no issues...if you want to play with the best balls and struggle to purchase them, then I think play with lesser cost balls.

It seem like a simple concept, but all too often we hear something along the lines of "I don't play for credits, RG's. etc...it takes me a week to earn through Surveys/etc., enough to buy a sleeve, please lower the price..."

I liken it to if you are working for minimum wage and need a car, a Lexus is probably not a good choice financially, maybe a used Ford Escort is a better choice...after all, the dealer isn't going to take 80% off the price of a luxury car, because you can't afford it.

    Again "you"-in 3rd person context.

WGT is a mathematical calculation game with graphics. I do not use my right finger to play RL golf, my RL swing dynamics have no relationship with my eye-finger coordination.

WGT can be played for various reasons. If you aspire to be a top credit winner, you better be ready to put in the time and credits to POSSIBLY attain your goal. If you enjoy playing for the social aspect that WGT offers here, you don't have to spend a penny.

I fail to see the "cost arguement" because WGT is not forcing anyone to spend money. They offer virtual equipment/balls at a cost of credits. If for whatever reason one is denied the ability to earn free credits, then there is your arguement that WGT should be addressing.

Actually WGT is a very good simulation of the real golf world !! Golf is a game for people with deep pockets !! The deeper your pockets are  - the better equipment you can have. I finally broke down last month and spent some cash here so I could keep my supply of balls up. Lord knows if you don't live in the two big markets your ability to earn credits is greatly diminished !! I must admit that it has gotten a little better here in Canada. we sometimes get an activity or the possibility to view some extra videos and yes we can bank our 7 views from the carosel everyday. remember when WGT diminished the values for cashing in your "views" and the backlash it created. trialpay still doesn't work. and 5 credits per survey (that you get kicked out of) sure doesn't help. It was OK when I first started out and I was using the 44 credit balls. Alas the premium balls are for the big spenders. Like said before "it is what it is" not expecting any changes soon.

Both true and false - e.g. I'm pretty good at WGT and quite bad IRL because my swing abilities are poor, but playing WGT helps develop golf understanding which is also used IRL, especially talking about the short game. Though must admit unlike here IRL I don't use flop from <30 meters all the time- actually use it very rarely, because it's a very difficult and risky shot...

You pretty much nailed it alanti I'd like to add that soon there will be competition when perfect parallel comes on line. I'll bet when that happens you'll see prices drop.I know I am already signed up and if wgt doesn't improve in both operation and value I will never look back. Competition is exactly what wgt needs. Maybe they would wake up.

When is Perfect Parallel suppose to be coming. Heard a lot about a year ago, but nothing at all for at least 6 or 7 months.

What I've been hearing is this winter. That was their plan and I don't know if they are still on schedule or not.
