I've been banging on about mulligans in practice rounds for ages so thanks for listening and thanks for disregarding all the hysterical comments in the forums about charging for them.

I knew you guys wouldn't be that cheap.

Point of clarification: One shot per mulligan, right?

    Sean ;-)

Well i appreciate your answer sir. not happy about it and will no longer use it as i find it kind of useless now. I will return to the original and hope that they see the drastic differences between todays and yesterdays 3 click meter.

    Thanks

    tillysurvey:
Just want to check terminology here, so people do not get wrong end of the stick as to the WGT interpretation of a mulligan ....
So practice on #18 at St A ....
    Its a Par4
Shot 1 - Drive (1 hit in ball registered, 1 stroke taken)
Approach Shot to green (2nd hit registered on ball, 2 strokes taken)
    Take Mulligan
Approach Shot to green (3rd hit registered on ball, but 2 strokes taken)
On Green Birdie putt  (4th hit registered on ball) - so down as a 3 (strokes) BUT 4 hits off the ball.
This is how I interpret your NEWS..... on the mechanics of play.
They way you have explained this on the forum, is you lose a shot on the ball for taking a mulligan .... and then lose another shot when you play it .... which is what I think people are reading into your comments .... (2 shot taken off for a mulligan)

A mulligan taken will register 3 hits of wear on the ball, even if it is a mulligan putt (strictly speaking though it should be 2 hits of wear for a mulligan putt as the putting shot itself shouldn't impart wear on the ball).

Two hits of wear (as payment if you like) and one hit of wear for the actual shot.

Any mulligans taken will not count as strokes for the hole, (at least they didn't on my experiment but I have seen posted scorecards which contradict this), but will gain you 1 XP point.

    WGTdbloshoe:
Just some notes on the new features we rolled out last night...

    Thank you

    Mulligans

    Huge EXCELLENT. Very useful.

    WGTdbloshoe:
mulligan will cost you two additional shots off of your ball durability

Eiher it's Dick Turpin or Fagan justifying themselves in the Ministry of Stupid ideas. Great start  idea with sort term robbery rapido behind.  Why not just promote good will? Such a great idea that could get used, and used, and end up generating loads anyway.  Instead of which warnings will go up and huge chance for good will lost as well as extra revenue down the drain. Maybe no intention being here for the long haul which is the rational business reason I can think of for smash and grab.

    WGTdbloshoe:
Max Clubs - New set of clubs for lower players who are still in the low to mid 90's and need that little extra distance.

More choice excellent. Already bought the L92 3 wood - pricey but I am very pleased, and so a good one IMO!

    WGTdbloshoe:
Taylormade SLDR Driver- New driver from TM added to the line that we already have.

Excellent job WGT; Just what should be done.  You should probably reduce the cost of the R11 just to shift a few for those that want to try everything on the way through or it will be obsolete again.  On the latter are Dick and Fagan at it again?  However nothing should detract from this overall good move.

    WGTdbloshoe:
New Pin Locations - Merion Pins have been added.

    Good stuff:)

    WGTdbloshoe:
Uneven Lies - Top priority is getting this sorted out and fixed.

Must try this again.  last time I never gave it much of a go.  Think I got on a steep slope and the angle seemed more game than realistic anything golf, and so my interest stopped.  Worth another crack. EDIT: Take out the two shot Mulligan penalty ball usage and a few more might try this to.  May find that's a big one that helps what keeps it only your priority?

    WGTdbloshoe:
3 Click Meter - Updated to be more realistic.  Now the player swings along with the meter going back just like the other two.  Great way to judge distance based on the movement in the swing.

Interesting and more innovation anyway.  Please don't let any one take away the new "original" signage on the old one which is a superbly accurate shot aid to.  Would miss that and the complaint's when it first came in soon stopped lol.

Thought the point of using Mulligans was to avoid a penalty or general bad shot (itchy finger, meter spike).

What is the use of  taking a Mulligan during a solo practice round if ball durability takes a hit of two additional strokes? An added feature would be NO loss of ball durability on solo practice rounds.

Why do we now get David Leadhead pop up lessons on the green if we have disabled WGT LESSONS in the option menu before the game?

    WGTdbloshoe:

So got an update on the two fixes, uneven lies and the flagstick.  Looks like they think they got a fix in place but need to test it out.  Looking at a fix time of tomorrow.  Won't be any downtime or interruption to game play.

I don't give a hoot about either 1, not going to waste balls on ue & I never pull pin any way. Stop the stupid leadbeater putt instructions in A/S, you're loosing money cause no one wants to see leadbeater!!!!

I give a hoot each about both the UL and pulling the pin. The Leadbetter popup lesson doesn't change the game play at all.

I can't help but feel nothing but frustration with WGT. These updates seem to cause nothing but problems with game play.

Did anyone think to test once changes werew made......I mean pulling the flag is only done by more than half the people that play the game.

The adds constantly running are just plain annoying to all the players i am sure.

And once again you ruin something that a lot of people enjoyed when you introduced 2 new meters...then you change them. i don't recall one person in the forums ask for an "improved" 3 click meter. What you did is take it upon yourself and make it worse.

I been tinkering all afternoon with different ball/meter combinations and can't find one i like now.....

I quit before and i think its time to do it again...just fed up with these CONSTANT and i mean CONSTANT let downs from this company.

The best thing that could happen is that someone would create a similar game and give these guys some competition so that they have to start listening to their customers or simply go bankrupt.....sry but thats the truth.

I have been using the 3 click meter since it came out, and loved it.  I have tried several times today to get used to the new one, but it is so hard, it just ruins the game for me. If it stays like this, WGT has gotten the last dime outta me. How can it be more realistic for the guy to back swing, and then hold it for 4 seconds while you TRY to hit somewhere within a half a mile of the ding? I've never seen a real golfer hold the club up in the air that long before the down swing!  NOT realistic at all.  And there is absolutely no way to watch the avatar to know when to stop the back swing to set the distance. That is the silliest thing I've ever heard of.

I could not have said any better, as I absolutely agree and feel exactly the same. If WGT wont undo what they did to the 3-click meter, I too have no more desire to play this game, when the control is absolutely uncontrollable, which takes away the ability to be competitive with oneself, let alone with others.
