Not only tiger woods does it, i have seen many golfers do it. Not all of them have allergies.

LOL but yet in your first post the only one that you chose as an example was Woods lol but yet right here ^^^^^  now all of a sudden you have seen others. I trust your observation skill set sir lmao (sarcasm intended ). Oh i forgot you have never spit on the ground, never cursed , never killed a bug or anything such as that, Lol glass houses should not throw stones

Simple solution - just jail a spitter as they do in Singapore. When I lived there and the SARS outbreak was in full flight (actually flights were pretty damned empty) spitting was an instant jail term - one 70 odd year old was thrown in Jail for several months!

Still revolts me and is inexcusable on a golf course IMO

Spitting on the golf course has been going on before tiger woods and will continue after he leaves; why is it when he spits on the ground its an issue?

I'm still waiting for some positive solution as to how you would enforce it to prevent it from happening within your field of view by a player who has a legitimate reason for doing it.

That question aside, none of us here have addressed the fact that such fines may already be in place and fines are being enforced by the PGA. Such behavior may violate the "Conduct of Players" section of the "PGA Tour Players Handbook". Those enforcement actions are not made public by the Tour.

Fines are levied for profanity; that much is known. Yet players continue to swear on the course and pay the fines. If spitting is not already being fined, your request  for fining those who do might not slow it down much. After all, the swearing issue is still prevalent.

It's an older article (2004) but John Feinstein from Golf Digest wrote an article about such conduct enforcement here:

Well, if Tiger was a genuine pussycat he could make like a trap was a litter box, dig a little hole, spit into it and then cover it up. Set the example, you know.  :-D

Golfers are milionares...fines wont change anything!... They sould give panalty shots for swaring or spitting or that tipe of behaviour, if someone is with spitting... Then you are prob a golfer that also does not give a ***...
