That being said, looks like I might have a couple added bonuses. My shot on 13 finished 33 feet away, and looking through the  posts so far that might actually be enough (glad CD told me to save it).

Didnt know there was a bonus there. But I think Hobbe was like 13 ft away and myseelf 12.

    Shame :)

A straight or left-to-right headwind is the only hope, and even then it's a full bs 170 4-iron.

Yeah, 170 iron full bs. Our wind was right to left, 11 mph I think. So aiming way right and just have it to bounce on fairway before green and then roll nicely up. Hobbe made his putt there.

This was the play I went for but failed bigtime. I ended up missing the ding right and the ball ended up in the right rough next to the hole. First flop never got on the green(tried to be too cute) and the second went well past. Ugly double result.

Looks like CD has already posted most of the screenshots for out round so I'll just add a couple of mine. Overall it was an extremely frustrating round for me, but feel like i would have faired much better with some practice. The 10th hole really derailed me and by the end i was just content breaking 80.

That being said, looks like I might have a couple added bonuses. My shot on 13 finished 33 feet away, and looking through the  posts so far that might actually be enough (glad CD told me to save it).

Also, and i laughed out loud at this one, when i was screen shotting all the stats/scorecards I noticed my avg distance to the pin was 4.4 feet. Guess i can thank my only good shot (approach on 17) for that one!

I saw that when I saved the stats and thought.....WHAT???  ;)

You'll love it. The green speed is too slow so holding greens and reading putt distance is too easy. Wish I could make it faster but it's been posted from day one. 4-6 under on the front and 2-5 under on the back through 17 is very possible. Then a bogey at 18 for everyone at least.

Oh rats! That's my fault. I meant to post a reminder of Inigo's prize when posting the pairings and conditions... and completely forgot with everything else going on.

How about this? If nobody betters your 12 foot ctth distance, I'll throw in an extra sleeve for you!

    ---------------------------------------------

Everyone still to play Olympic, please note Inigo's generous prize:

Closest to the Pin winner on the Par 3 13th at the Olympic Club (Round 3). (1 sleeve of Callaway Hex Chrome balls valued at 325 credits or less: sponsor BigInigoMontoya] (please note conditions/instructions in this post)

    ... and bhoese's Olympic-specific GIR prizes:

Best GIR at Olympic (1 sleeve of balls of players choice. sponsor: bhoese)

Most Consistently Close to the Hole at Olympic: Highest total from this calculation: (30-Ave.Distance to Pin) * GIR, which will reward closest to hole average as well. (1 sleeve of balls of players choice. sponsor: bhoese)

    That is fabulous, Ian!

When I reported on the Stats standings a few pages back, I wondered if we'd get any 'interesting' results from Olympic.

It looks like you hit 5 greens in regulation across the 18 holes, but 4 of them were on all the par 3s... leaving just 1 hole (all that it takes to count for our stat) with a superb result.

That should jump you up considerably in the race for the Closest Ave. Distance to the Pin award.
