    AlanIce:

    Congrats!

Welcome to the Master tier, have fun and don't worry about your average(nice), as it will take care of itself after you play the required amount of ranked rounds for saturation.

    See ya on the greens....

This is advice I give to any player from Hack to Tour Legend. If one is playing here watching that stupid meaningless number in the top left corner of the screen you're wasting your time or simply missing out on all the fun this game has to offer. The Tiers will come from simply playing and completing rounds. If you're playing to that stupid number you're making this like work. There's no time limit and nobody can get to the next Tier late.

    Play and enjoy.

    Rooster2821:

Thanks for all your help guys.

I have been playing in a/s matches just to get use to the longer driver. Strange thing is, some holes are harder now with the longer driver. So what i dont want to do is get use to the holes with the new driver, then have to do it again when i turn Master.

So I think i am just going to take the jump to Master level.

I do not care about my average to the point where i am gonna quit rounds if they are going bad. I was just wondering if jumping up to Master would be easier to learn the holes instead of learning them twice?

The starter balls have gotten me this far and i am gonna stick with them till i hit a brick wall with them and that is where i will stay.

I have been playing all the courses so i get a good measure of my skill i guess you could say.

I also have been playing a lot of rounds just to level up to the better equipment.

I think once i get to Master tier i will settle in and work more on my "GIR".  I have read a lot of the forums picking up tips on the game and that has helped.

So I will keep plugging away at the game, have fun and stay out of the rough (which i seem to be in alot).

    FIFY. Well, added paragraphs.

Today -- with a great drive ( I use upgraded clubs ) -- I had 182 yds to the stick.  Perfect for a 5 iron that goes 180 yds. EVERY time I hit this club (on the ding) it ends up in the trap 20 yds short?! Only  3 mph head wind, But knowing past experience I chose a 190 yd 4 iron. Yep. sailed over the green in the rough, despite as much backspin as I can apply. My point being: 1)the green will not accept a ball (I use expensive balls also); and 2)There is No randomness to a lot of this game. Why should a ball that should clear the trap easily ALWAYS end up in there trap. Ripley

Good luck at your new tier Rooster...and don't worry about the initial difficulties. Your game will adapt and it'll start feeling "easy" again.

I'm going to assume that you are talking about #5 at Bethpage? In my experience, long iron approaches that are 30 feet uphill either end up short or go over the back. The margin for error on these shots is razor edge thin....unless you have really good equipment. If it's any consolation, I have yet to hit this green(in about 10 tries) from the back tees.

Med/high loft irons do not stop on uphill approaches

You need the high loft. Even the L79 Bladez will run out on uphill approaches

That is the point. You can't hit a putt 2 feet past the hole. I can in real, life, but with WGT there is the artificial 5' increments. So I get to hit it 5 feet past the hole to get the ball to go 2 more inches. Of course the extra speed takes the break away. In real golf I am an excellent putter; not so here. Of course, I guess I am the only person struggling with a swing meter that is all over the map. Most rounds the drive goes nuts at least once, sending the ball into the next county: result: double bogey. WGT is no help: just the usual blah blah blah about my flash drive, which is updated, minimizing the screen, blah blah.

Tried the Bladez --very unforgiving and still no stopping power.

Which hole? Was there a slope?

If you cannot stop the L79 Bladez... there is really nothing to say. You not applying full backspin to your shots?

Furthermore, they are quite forgiving. I do not hit the ding on every single shot... yet I seem to have no issues getting them reasonably close to the hole. You missing the ding by a mile or something?

Regarding the putting, what in the world are you taking about? There are no 5 feet increments. Try varying how much power you use on your meter
