It has been explained in fine detail many times, you are not dealing with whole numbers, but decimals to the 4th place. Each round has 0.20% effect 1/500th, on ur average if it is an improvement.

0.2 % of 61.00 is how much , work it out for yourself.

Paul, if you only play single player stroke play the average is VERY simple as explained here. However, if you also play matchplay or AS or RGs it is impossible to track. From what some people have worked out winning a Matchplay game against a higher tiered player reduces your average but we don't know by how much, however the effect of that win (i.e. the reduction in your average) gets less over the next 25 games (MP / AS Stroke or RG), if you then have a regular stroke round that is below your average, the effect of that reduction may be offset by the loss of effect of a previous MP / AS / RG win. If you then have several MP / AS / RG wins in the last 25 rounds plotting your average becomes impossible.

Edit: BTW the apparent reason the system is so complicated and hard to follow is IMHO quite deliberate. There are many players here who would try to manipulate their average if they could follow the math.

That I can confirm, (as I got 'bit' by this early in my career),

    9 holes is 1 round
18 holes is 1 round too, (so if you want to build your rounds stat do 9 holers)

A ranked round is a round that is NOT in practice mode.

Just to confuse things a little more for the people who are confused ....lol

If you shoot a really good 9 hole score in that 18 hole game...  then your Ave can drop too
