Bee in the bonnet and realise harping on.  I would love to know exactly how accurate the advertised meter speeds are in actual play between these

I rented out the L96 Odyssey.  I found it hard to tell the difference in meter speeds between the L96 and L70,  but I think the L70 is sightly slower....  I think...lol

With the extra dot in precision ...  as previously said, this will only kick in with the real long putts....   really long putts, as it keeps it's line better

Who at L96 will have 100ft putts though.

I will be keeping my L70 Odyssey.

$40 I would spend on a new set of irons that is better than my R11's (hint,hint...lol), but not the new putter

First of thanks very much for that Roger.

What I suspected. A tad too much poetic license in the advertising LOL.  I tried the L92 Ghost a while back and the meter seemed the same for all intents and purposes as my L70 Versa. A bit naughty IMO, but shows rent before you buy is best.

I kinda suspected aimed at the long distance putting comp. market looking for whatever.  I don't touch those so not a concern for me.  Next free rental weekend I will a/b the new L94 against my Odyssey just for idol curiosity of meter speed.  IF that is slower (cynic inside me suspects yes) it's again a bit naughty but is what is.

    U me both:)

Well I am sure they are desperately working on a way to do that, and they won't be shy about the price either I am sure:)

    EDIT:

fmagnets (an elite player obv) said the following about the Nike and it's precision. I do not see that on short straight putts but he is the top player so what he sees is worth more:)

"The extra half dot of precision is noticeable. With 4 dots, you will get the occasional putt that seems to deviate off line straight of the putter face, enough to cause a couple of lipouts a day on fairly short straight putts. With 4.5 dots I have yet to see this happen. Probably not worth the credits for most players, but an extra place up the leaderboard in just a couple of RGs a day and it's paid for itself in no time."

Hey, what's this doing back on topic?

Let's see if a picture of something that used to be about 20 miles from me will derail it again.

I know of a level 104 player who has them from time to time...ahem...

Thing is (for me) I'm still using a level 55? or so Rossa and was about to upgrade to the level 92? Spider...but now will try to build up some credits for the level 96 putter...but in effect (vs the Spider) it is just 1500 credits for me, so much less "sting" than if I already had a high level putter.

Precision is the ball going where you aimed it. Balance is what keeps it on line getting there. I would imagine it would be hard to tell the difference if you already had the 92 Ghost and used avatar moves, which I think MB does, but if you're willing to remap those moves I can see this putter making a big difference over a long-used lower level putter.

    Yes, I read that post.

When your one of the Elite Players of the game, that extra half dot/full dot can be a huge difference. Any advantage is a bonus.

I used the Rossa for years before upgrading to the L70 Odyssey and the extra dots made a huge difference to me.  For me, I don't think an upgrade to the L96 is needed at this stage.

Just on a lighter note.... when you get to the high Levels you have all the top clubs (if you want em). We would go for a year without buying new clubs.

When something new comes in at a high level, I'm just itching to get em.....lol

Renting the L96 is 600cr ....   Try before you buy....  then decide if you really need it

Basically by way of elucidation only, from the horses mouth so to speak, there is this from an old thread:

    WGTniv:

    Hi Pebbles,

Balance works with the putter's precision rating and represents consistency throughout the different distance increments of your putter.  The higher the balance rating, the more you can rely on the ball consistently going the distance you've struck your putt, especially so on longer putts.  Balance also works with forgiveness in a very similar manner to help reign in the effect of off-center hits, also making them react more consistently on longer putts.

Hope that answers your question. =)

Now Andy... you know that is not true.....lol.

I know,  I'm still way off to Elite status....  working on it though.....lol

All L96 people can get the club....  It's not going to make em Elite
