WGT, Was a journey, not a destination ?

You sound like Obie one conobie!  Get real !!! 3 irons spin back as can 3 woods stop on a dime. The game has hit a brick wall and wgt are trying to cash in on 40 dollar putters now,,18 months ago this game was golf not darts.

Well.....to be honest, i have been here for lil over 2 years. When i joined R11 irons were out and with the cally balls back then.....it was darts then.

Got to go back further than that i'm afraid. Maybe before cally balls and R11 irons.

And......i'm afraid after how the Limited Black R1 was sold every club now will come with very costly price.

Edit: The bottom line is if they didn't come out with new clubs for players to buy this game would be gone. So think they should make clubs that don't play as good as R11s??  Who is going to buy them??

And......if didn't make better clubs,,, who would buy anything after getting said clubs??

No money to be made down that route, lol. Not about game play....about the $ period. If this game was made to play how most players wanted....they would be broke in a month, lol.

    chrisironsbones:

Just bought one of those $40 putters.  Do I putt better with the half dot precision??? NO

Can i go to a shop locally and buy a REAL Nike putter for a few more $...YES

Another $ gimmick from the Master of selling 5hite.... Mr.WGT, why not start a new business selling snow to Eskimo's for $50 a bucket???

And also those new picture frames make site MUCH SLOWER

I'm not too bothered about it all because I definitely won't be spending $40 for a single club.

But that is about the cheekiest thing I've seen from WGT since inconspicuously scrapping the British Open a few years back.

I am still bothered by that also lol. They say it takes 6 months from start to finish to get a course up and running, yet said nothing until 2 weeks before the Open.

I understand somebody who is a net earner with lots of spare credits buying this (especially given dysfunctional state of the elite collection), but is there anyone mad enough to spend the actual money on this?..

Btw, any news about that competitor golf game coming out later this year? :) Start getting tired of this craziness...

I don't think the dots mean too much on the clubs, my lower level odyssey was great until I got to level 70 and the more expensive one was available, then it started acting up with putts starting off line, power doing whatever it wanted to do like 3 ft putts shooting 20 past the hole...but it is just fine 99% of the time....I'm sure it would have gone away had I bought the level 70 odyssey

I do know something was up yesterday at RSG...got my 1st real good look at the rumored VEM...kept hitting 8i in to 1(rated 145) no wind and it was all over the place, dinged hits with same settings were 15 ft left or right 15 ft, or right on but yardage was from 142 to 154 with no spin, 1 shot hit the flag dead center and bounced back 30 yds off the green...in fact all my short irons were way off and they were fine that morning....putts were breaking with no dots moving, breaking less than or more than dots showed, speed would vary... if I missed the ding by a pin head the shot was 20-25 ft off, 1 shot on par 3 3rd was missed by a hair intentionally the way I play the hole and went 50 ft left...i went to another course and they were all back to normal...

Everybody seems to think the new putters are too expensive, but I'm sure a lot of people will purchase them. WGT will set the prices to what they think people are prepared to pay. If they get it wrong, then they don't make as much money.

If everybody didn't buy it then WGT would have to change the price or the product. You might not see the value in these putters, but I'm sure there are people who are prepared to pay that price. The value of something is what somebody is prepared to pay for it.

Well, there is quite a bit of sand.  Throw in a few turds and used Durex and you've pretty much got a typical British beach.

Of course you would know, Mainz.

Germany are well known for their beaches. I think to myself where do I go for a nice beach. Do I go to the Caribbean? No I go to Germany lol.

That's the major problem facing WGT right now.  How can they come out with new clubs that are better than the existing best without making the game an utter joke?  The only way I can see, as has been suggested by CIB among others, is to release some real risk/reward clubs.  High precision and spin, low forgiveness and fast meter.

I remember when the i15 were the top irons available, doesn't feel that long ago but I bet it's well over 2 years.  I snapped them up as soon as I could and loved them.  There was a real feeling of hitting a good shot when you dinged one.  Equally there was some serious swearing when I slipped up and sent a ball waaaay off line when the meter caught me napping.  Regardless, those were the most rewarding irons I've played with from a golfing point of view, rather than a gaming one.

Bearing that in mind the new putter is probably a step in the right direction, it does have a faster meter after all.  If they made it a more realistic price and upped the meter a bit more it'd be perfect.
