Southern are still looking for active quality members to fill their roster. Currently, we have approximately 37 very active members and the club is flourishing. We aim to cap our membership for the foreseeable future at 50 members, after which our recruitment will be closed for new applications.
Having 'the numbers' is not important to Southern, I've actually removed around 30-35 members over the last couple of months due to inactivity, i'm quite amazed at the amount of players who join a CC then do absolutely nothing!
Every effort is made to ensure an active and enjoyable club environment but activity isn't rammed down your throat, inactive members are removed with a polite message stating that you are welcome to re-apply at a later date when you can play in some events or contribute in our forum and shoutbox . We feel that the challenging nature and variety of events as well as the social side is all the encouragement members need to participate.
I've had approximately 10 requests to join over the last week or so and unfortunately, I won't be accepting any members until registration and an application on the club website has been made. It's a straightforward process and clearly, is too much trouble for some but helps to find the kind of member that Southern hope to attract.
We have a fantastic schedule of regular events, incredibly competitive leaderboards and some outstanding talented players only too happy to share knowledge. At the other end of the scale, we have some guys who joined as hacks, posting rounds in the 90's and now are tour pro's/masters, and posting sub 70 scores.
It's a very friendly, welcoming atmosphere, a great social club as well as highly competitive. We've had 3 inter-club matches in quick succession and managed to pull out wins in all three. Our Club championship began at the weekend and members are relishing the 2nd round this coming weekend.
There are regular prizes and sponsored events, all donated/sponsored by our members and in the short time we've been formed, thousands of credits worth of prizes have been won/donated.
I invite you to take a look at Southern, with only a dozen or so places to fill, applications are now very limited.
If you'd like further information, Southerns recruitment/membership coordinator Elepharon will be only too happy to help you.
