18 birdies?

  See a bunch of 54's in the tourneys, seems a little tough to me without hacks, especially with some very new users, thoughts? sorry if repost.

  It has been discussed ad nauseum in theses forums. There are multiple reasons for the low scores.

  1. Some players are that good. You are probably looking at "unlimited play" tourneys. Gamers will start a round with a shot goal in mind. They will play for a particular score per hole (birdie, eagle, etc.) and simply quit the round if they fail on a particular hole. They then start a new round, repeating the process until they finally achieve the low score they're looking for over the entire round. Tourney conditions may also factor in if they are from forward tees and/or with lower wind than the player normally plays.

  2. Low tier players (hacks & amateurs) showing such low scores are usually players who have Master and above status but opened up a second (or third or fourth) account in violation of the TOS simply to game the system out of credits and boost their egos.

  3. Yes, a few have cheats and hacks but I think the majority of low scores actually come from the players in 1 & 2.

  it is still disheartening ...when you are trying to play a straight up honest game...using what ever balls and clubs and you look at a leaderboard that shows someone with a 20 under par...I don't recall seeing Tiger Woods playing on line...if you want a challenge try playing a tourney with the free balls...no ..control....lmao...thanks for your reply just the same...I found it interesting

  I would agree w/ Walt in a way ..it is kinda dis-heartening to to see -20 on the leaderboard but in some of the unlimited play tourneys given the clubs and balls that we can use now it's almost a given that those scores will be posted.   I love to make birdies and eagles just as much as the next guy so I  will keep playing these tourneys and will use them as practice as i always do.

  If you want a better chance of winning tournaments and games against a friendly crowd of people then you should join a good country club. Most people will never win a WGT tournament so swimming in a smaller pool is more fun.

  I agree, courteney. Over 6 years here I never bothered to enter many WGT tourneys. I consider those WGT tourneys as being set up for gamers, not golfers.

  As someone who approaches this game with a golfer's mentality I try to finish every game I start so I simply stick exclusively to CC tourneys now.  I have lucked out in a few, too.

  f you're out for a win, agreed.

  For most of the time, I have regarded the weeklies and monthlies as private rounds, adding to the average, with double XP reward. Why worry about a 345th place?

  They are for the fun of the game, and I received some challenge from my own scores via the scoring awards, "courses" section.
