  How is this ,  Just like on AS games we get to pick who tees off first on hole # 1 .  That player would then be team captian and would pick .

  Or  Odd and Even , One player picks on Odd # holes and the other picks on Even # holes

  lets assume both hit from the tee into fairway: 3 yards award. One player wants to use his position to hit, other wants to use his... they cannot agree.

  How do you handle this in a fair and timely manner as not to slow the game play? Please remember that this is a decision that can be had after every hit on a 18 hole game...

  Since this is a virtual game, let WGT decide who's ball is best.  Then there's no argument between the players (and you get served up the whine ... without the cheese)!

  I can hear the complaints now, DaddysKat. All WGT can do is program parameters that may not make any sense to anyone.

  Do you take the shorter shot from the rough or the longer shot from the fairway? The short one from the fairway with only three yards of green to work with or the one that's 15 yards longer, in the fairway also but a wide open approach with more green to work with? From the rough or from the trap?

  Each situation is different; each player is different. Letting a third party (WGT) make those decisions isn't going to work. Let the players pick their team captain before the round and let the captain have the final say with a selection confirmation button.

  You cant have it all, the wgt makes choice, its has to be the closest, best lieing ball, if off fairway tuff luck, even if your 50 yards closer in 20/25 ruff

  Good point ,  What if its a water hole , water on the right and the pin is on the right , Player # 1 is 20 yards closer but on the right side of fairway and has no choice but to go over the water , Player # 2 is on the left side of fairway but can play a bump and run to the green and take the water out of play .   If WGT has to program in all this its more work for them and better chances of mad players that will not be happy and may not play . 

  Captians Choice  gets my vote

  AND   I dont trust my WGT caddie ,, Why would I trust WGT to pick my shot ,, LOL

  Keep the timer the same, and penalize one stroke if they run out of time.  Scramble format is a great game, I've been Golf League President for over 40 years and somehow it always is resolved within the team.   It is the same for real golf, sometimes I chose to hit from the fairway when it was a much longer shot because the longest drive was in the rough, etc.   Bottom line, choose your scramble partners wisely.

  Ya, it's a game that I would really enjoy as well. The problem is to conceptualize it. Maybe picking a captain is a good idea, I am not sure but so far it's the best idea I heard.

  The same way the option to concede a putt is handled-the timer. Play defaults to the last shot hit and the timer begins. 15-30 seconds is enough.

  This type of game might perk WGT up too, the Captains choice would be the best option, using something such as skype voice would be very useful when playing too.
