    Hi,

I run a very modest CC, and I'm looking to increase its membership and activity somewhat.

We are underperforming in much the same way as my football club of the same name is doing in the Premier League.

Recently added a couple of legend players to the throng.

We are not overly active, and there is no pressure to participate in every tournament. A couple of us sponsor a weekly tournament with ball prizes. So, if you're looking for a fairly casual dip in/dip out CC experience (a supplement to your WGT playing), come and take a look.

Open to all levels Amateur and up. Probably no hacks, as they usually sign up to WGT and then disappear.

Also, looking at profiles via forum posts, I sometimes see an interesting poster is not affiliated. Forgive me if I send a CC invitation, just testing the waters.

My goal is to have enough members to run two sponsored comps a week, have some CC match play among members, and play the occasional CC vs CC game. I would hope to have members as friends, too. Then we can play some regular games on WGT as well.

One of the clubs aims is to help players from lower levels improve and move up the tiers whilst enjoying the WGT experience.

Cheaters, baggers and whiners need not apply.

I wish u well . My CC ain't so big, only 30 members, but it's a wonderful and powerful club.

Size ain't everything. I'm sure Courteney won't argue wiv that.

There are some strange people on this site.

I send an invite to a chap that has posted a thread looking for a CC. Give them all the details, and the invite is accepted. I accompany this with a friend invite as said chap said he wants a CC where he can play games with members. That is accepted as well.

A day later the chap leaves CC and unfriends without even playing a game.

He receives multiple offers of CC, so fair enough he finds one that suits better. I can understand that. Yet, why the unfriend, and no message of any kind.

Would you not think that somewhat rude behaviour. Explanatory of why he left his previous club and why others didn't want to play him. Perhaps my CC has had a lucky escape from grief.

I'll put it down to a bit of bipolar personality.

Maybe you can join up with another cc with the same needs. Its hard to keep folks  interested these days. Our cc has been a little inactive lately..fantasy football and other activity s keeping us together. GL Peter

Pete it's never personal, or maybe it's always personal, But if you major in thinking what goes through peoples head you're going to have the headache, lol peace pete. Its never easy running a club and everyone has their own Ideas on how it should be done, I guess theres really no right or wrong way, it's what the WGT, allows. Players change clubs for different reasons but one isn't because they were invited to a new club, Maybe there looking for something else, or they don't know what they're looking for... Don't ponder it to long and have fun with your club. Your members are going to get invites from other clubs, So what. if they leave, just keep building , keep your membership active, and if you want nice size leaderboards release players after their in active for a while or ask your players to play a certain amount of games a month. Send game reminders, this a busy world we live in. I have one suggestion never engage with a country club owner who invites players in your club, to theirs. It never turns out well, and looks like two old hens arguing like they own the players, just keep going after the best active players you can find, doesn't matter there level , they will improve .... Good Luck pete

yes In the USA players love American Football college and pro, there tends to be a drop off in foot ball season.

I generally don't have an issue with people leaving.

I hate douchebags though. I hate the douchebags that trawl between CCs fleecing them for gifts and then move on.

I have had a couple of examples. Two memebers joined when they were masters. They never once sponsored a tournament, and they won a fair few as masters and TMs playing the legends but off easier tees.

The very day they turned legends they quit and joined another CC. No explanation, no thanks for the 10-20 sleeves of balls they were gifted out of my pocket (or my other co-organiser). Just up and went. Right at the point where it would take a couple of months of practice to start winning again.

Another left because he didn't receive his prize on one occasion, due to an error on my part. He didn't ask me for an explanation. He slagged me off on the Club Forum.  It was as though my role in his life was to finance his WGT golf balls. Again not once did he even sponser a sleeve of GISDs. He was another who must have received more than 10 sleeves.

Maybe these people are naive, and think the two of us win loads of credits. My partner in this earns his credits through surveys and videos, and spends them on balls for himself and the CC. I buy the credits that I gift. I can afford to help a few that can't.

CC owners keep an eye out for these douchbags. Be wary of masters or TMs suddenly wanting in. Keep a very close eye on when they near legend. If they don't comment on the forum or offer up a tournament or once say thanks or always compete and post a very good score in every prized tournament, but not in fun or credit tournaments - I reckon you have a douch.
