Recently I questioned our club (Cheer) captain (Cappy11) about being timed out of a long-running club championship tournament at the semi-final stage.

He writes back and tells me to stfu and/or fo. I was polite, but when I objected to his rudeness and bullying, he and two of his buddies decided to excommunicate me.

I wont miss that bunch, although some of the guys were enjoyable to compete with.  How should  feel about the shabby treatment? Where do I lodge a complaint?

Sadly, you have nowhere to lodge a complaint but to your CC. That will get you nowhere.

Sounds like you are best away from there anyway....

Other clubs available - have a look around, find somewhere you think looks right and see how it goes.

PS: The Oddball Country Club have a few spaces available - feel free to apply.

CCs are not democracies you have no rights whatsoever. They 'can' be ruled as a fiefdom by the owner as he / she 'owns' the club and is in sole charge of all it's activities.

Having said that, if an owner wants a club that is interesting, participatory and fun (to say nothing of having a workable number of members) he / she will work hard and treat his / her members well.

Crystal Palace CC will welcome you in if you are looking.

Always up for members suggestions for tournaments. And members who don't mind sponsoring a tournament once in a blue moon, or even setting up no prize tournaments that are interesting. Obviously someone coming in and setting up dozens of tournaments at once with no prizes offered will get a chilly reception.

Careful with time outs though. Don't forget that if a tourno is set up with certain parameters you will be affected by them.

I tend to set up unlimited, but add some single play tournos as well.

Lately, WGT have started adding more and more functionality for CCs. Will become more and more interesting as we go on.

Sounds to me if what you say is true, he did you a favor.

All members in my club have rights. If they have concerns or suggestions then they just have to drop me a line or post in the club forum and we will discuss it between all members.

    +1

I can vouch for that, Daz runs a very good cc and all members have a say on how it is run.

(As it should be of course)

All i can say here is,  common sense is what is needed when running a CC. A CC can be run by more than 1 person, when that CC is tightly knit and tightly run. In normal circumstances, a good CC run as good as that will have many members looking after the run of things, and that leads to a democracy if all members have a say in how thing are run.

In my opinion, a good CC will ask members for ideas on how to run things. But that is not a bad reflection on how things are run in that CC, but merely a way of getting members involved.

There are rules to be adhered to in most CC's, but what can you expect when people put time and effort into running something that takes a lot of time and effort to do? I think i can say with my hand on my heart that most folks that run a CC put a lot of effort into running things, and if thats the case, then they should be given a bit of respect for the effort that is made to keep the game interesting along with the other members and helpers that go with that CC.

If this is not happening with your CC, then im sorry to say that its probably not the right CC to be in.

In saying that, the response you got from your CC owner is pure b*llshit, and its probably the best thing that happened that you got away from that club. A little research will help you find what it is you are looking for, as many different CC's run in different ways. Good luck in your search.
